Third person POV
Later, at Kaleb's base, in one of the empty rooms in the base headquarters, Kelly and Paloma are being given some cup noodles to warm up. Kaleb had found out what had happened last time from his subordinates, and he eventually ordered the bodies of those three slain terrorists to be gathered and burned at the pit in the fields. Kevin, Wesley, and James, alongside Ron and Francis, are there for possible answers. Kevin and Wesley, as Toshi and Mateo, also had their notepads and pens for possible clues, too.
After warming up, Kelly revealed to Kaleb and the others about how she and her daughter got caught in the crossfire between the military and the zombies. It turns out that her husband, a scientist and researcher named Peter, had discovered a cure for the zombie virus, and he is now a target by an organization named Wit Hornets, which was Rudiman's organization. They considered that discovery as a threat to their plan of domination and seek to destroy that cure. For her and Paloma's safety, Peter sent them away while he went on a run from Rudiman's army of terrorists and mercenaries. But, she and Paloma got caught by some of them and are to be executed after refusing to tell them where Peter is. After hearing all that, Kevin and the others are shocked, and Kevin and Wesley are absolutely pissed off.
"So evil!" Kevin commented in exclaimed as he angrily made a line on the page of his notepad with his black gel pen.
"I can't believe that," Wesley harshly responded.
Kaleb then casually responded, "So that organization, named the Wit Hornets, are against the cure made by your husband?"
Kelly then nodded. "Yes, and I don't know how he was or where he was now."
"Thanks for saving us," Paloma added.
"You're welcome, kid," James responded. "We happened to come across."
Kevin then returned to his true self, attached his pen to the plastic cover of his notepad, and stepped in, saying, "Yeah, we're happy to help. You can stay here as long as you needed. By the way, I'm Kevin Algos Casas-Cruz, of the Philippines and Spain."
"And I'm Wesley Magkalon Kurusawa-Cruz, of the Philippines and Japan," Wesley added with a bow for a few seconds.
Kaleb, James, Francis, and Ron then introduced themselves to Kelly and Paloma.
Shortly thereafter, Paloma, an 11-year-old, girl, starts to have feelings for the young, foreign, biracial, modern-day warrior.
Later, at twilight time, in an empty room, Kevin revealed Riley what had happened that day. Riley was surprised, and she commented, "So that means the cure is considered a threat by an organization named Wit Hornets?"
"Yes, and I was super mad," Kevin responded back. "I want to stop them!"
"Sure, good luck with that," Riley replied.
Then, as the twilight time is about to be over, Kevin quickly get his colorful shoelace and passed it to Riley, who then catches it by the other end.
They hold it for a few moments, before Riley disappeared along with the shoelace.
After that, Kevin looked at his right hand and said to himself, "Let's meet up again."
Paloma had been watching this the whole time and thought, "What is that? She just disappeared out of nowhere. I didn't know he had someone else."
But, will she break through Kevin's relationship with Riley?
