[Flashback ended]
[Back at the present]
Kevin's pov
"Wow, so that's what happened," I commented to Juan and Maria's story.
"Yeah, and those zombified soldiers became friendly and docile to us," Juan responded to my comment.
"A lot of things had happened," Maria added as well.
"I see. So that means big brother wasn't alone at all."
"Yes, it is, Kevin."
It was 4 in the afternoon when I woke up from his 5 month-long coma.
Later, I was down while sitting on his bed. I wasn't depressed, however, just down because I had a near encounter with death for the second time.
"I can't believe this, not again," I said to himself.
Juan and Maria are looking at me with concern while watching an offline Youtube video in their shared smartphone, knowing my long history of mental illness.
And then, suddenly, I hallucinated that the room as a hospital room in my psychotic world of Matsu. Then, I hallucinated that my personalities, my "advisors", are in front of him.
[Psychotic Conversation]
Kako: Sir, are you okay?
Kevin: I think so, Kako-kun.
Kiyoshi: We found out that you got shot twice.
Kevin: Yes. I still remembered that.
Toshi: When are you going to be fully recovered so we can have your approval for a new investigation?
Kevin: What investigation?
Toshi: About the origin of the zombie virus.
Kevin: I'm not sure about that.
Kakeru: Come on, we talked about it. I think it's better if we find out the origin of this virus than to leave it unanswered.
Leon: Yeah, it's better to do something than to waste time doing nothing.
Kevin: (Thinks about it) Sure, if curiosity wasn't the reason.
Toshi: We know. We wanted to find out how it was made and who did it.
Kevin: Okay, I give you my approval, but also...
Toshi: What is it? Are you going to add something?
Kevin: Yes, can you add another part about how most zombies regained their consciousness and self-awareness?
Toshi: Sure, why not.
[End of the psychotic conversation]
Kevin's pov
As I smiled at my "members", I snapped out back to reality when Ron and John came to the room with a tray of snacks and a sandwich. Upon seeing that his younger brother had survived his coma, Ron immediately handed the tray to John and ran to me while asking, "Kevin, are you okay?"
Upon looking at my older brother, I quickly recognized him and asked back, "Big brother?"
"Are you okay?" Ron asked me for the second time.
"I think so," I responded back in a normal tone. "I felt some pain below my heart."
"Woah, that's good. You're recovering very fast."
John then put the tray aside on the table and walked towards me while saying, "Thank goodness you had survived."
Looking at John, I replied in a monotone voice, "John-san?"
"Well, that liver transplant and blood transfusion really worth it."
"What liver transplant and blood transfusion?"
In response to that, Ron explained to me about what happened after I got shot, in every detail. 2 minutes later, I was shocked to hear that, and Ron said to me, "Yeah, I managed to remove the sniper bullets from your body."
"And also, a survivor who was a surgeon replaced your damaged liver with a new one," John added while crossing his arms.
"Wow, that was...neat," I replied back, "at least for me,"
And then, suddenly, the twilight came in time, and a girl, my girlfriend Riley, appeared in front of me. This was the work of the Love Bond. She appeared in front of everyone in the room.
"Kevin?" Riley said to me.
"Riley-chan?" I responded back,
Upon recognizing each other's faces, we give each other a deep hug, but I only stand up.
"I missed you so much, Kevin-kun," Riley said to me with tears of sadness.
"It's okay, Riley-chan," I said to her with emotion. "I'm here for you."
