Third person POV
Meanwhile, on the day Kevin, his siblings, and Wesley left Savannah, Georgia for Los Angeles, at Charleston's airport, Maccoy decided to leave the airport place and go and try to get out of the city as fast as he could. Gregory and Steve agreed with him and even gave him some food, bottles of mineral water, and some ammunition for his weapon. Maccoy then accepted them while keeping the walkie-talkie just in case.
And so, that early morning, before he would completely leave the airport terminal, Gregory and Steve wished him good luck.
"Good luck to both of you as well," Maccoy responded back. "I hoped we'll meet again in the future."
"Yes, someday," Gregory replied back.
With that, Maccoy turned around and left the place with his gun and backpack.
Later, at 8:11 a.m., after killing a couple of zombies along the way, Maccoy stopped at an intersection in the city to jot down some entries and notes in his scratchpad with his pen. But then, he heard something shuffling across the intersection, and he looked behind. He saw nothing, and just turned back and resumed writing in his small, cheap scratchpad. But suddenly, someone injected some sedatives on his neck, causing him to drop his scratchpad and pen to the ground and knocking him unconscious. He was then pulled out of the area to somewhere by that person, who was masked. Who kidnapped him?
