For the rest of the afternoon, everyone spent the day hanging out with each other. They all played board games and danced to music. (Addison even introduced them to a few of her favorite muggle artists.) Though the night was young, everyone decided to help pitch in at making dinner. Rolf and Lysander made chicken, Lorcan made asparagus, Jaxson assisted Addison in the potato making, and Luna and Laney made pudding for dessert. In a matter of time, the food was made and plated, and everyone took a seat.
"Today has been quite the adventure." Lorcan said. Lysander nodded. "A family reunion, Nargle spotting, seeing a newborn Niffler, charm making, board games and dancing, dinner making, yep, today has been quite a hectic day! Both good, and tiring." Addison nodded. "I do have a last request though, could we possibly go out and catch fireflies? It'd be the perfect end to a day like this." she said.Luna's face lit up. "That would be fun!" "Yeah, let's do it!" Jaxson exclaimed. Everyone ate their food in a fairly quick manner, and rushed outside. It wasn't completely dark, but it was still dark enough to see the fireflies. "I've found that the key to this is to hold out your hand and walk around slowly. Most of the time the fireflies will just land on you." Addison said. Everyone took her advice, and began catching fireflies. Even Luna and Rolf joined in, in fear of missing out on the fun. They spent hours outside, catching fireflies and talking about things that seemed relevant at the time.
"You know, I don't think I could imagine a more perfect day than this one. Probably the highlight of the summer if you'd ask me!" Laney said, feeling the cool summer breeze. "Definitely! This is probably the best moment of my life in fact!" said Addison. After a few more hours outside, Lysander looked at his watch. "I think I'm going to head inside." he said, yawning. Luna took a look at the time. "Yes, I suppose it is pretty late. We should all head inside now and get ready for bed." she said. Everyone agreed, let go of the fireflies that they were holding, and went inside, each of them making their way up to their bedrooms.
Laney and Addison changed into their pajamas and brushed their teeth and hair. "Well, that was quite fun!" Addison said, yawning. Laney nodded. "I must agree, it was quite exhilarating." she said. Laney turned off the light and the pair made their way to bed. They both fell asleep quite easily, exhausted from the long yet exciting day they both just had.
At 1:00 a.m., a rattling noise was heard. Addison sat up, trying to find the source of the noise while adjusting her eyes. Laney will still sound asleep. Addison quietly made her way out of bed, pulled out her wand and casted lumos. The tip of her wand lit up, and she began to look around the room for the source of the rattling sound. Eventually, Laney awakened, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. "What are you doing Addison?" she questioned. Addison turned around, accidentally shining her light in Laney's eyes. "Sorry! I was looking for the sound of the rattling." she said. "What sound?" Laney asked. "Listen!" said Addison. The two of them listened for the sound.
"It seems to be coming from that book." Addison said. She walked over to it and opened it. "Of course, it must be the time reverser thing! Or, whatever it's called." Laney got out of bed and walked over. She took out the box that was inside the book and opened it, peering inside.
Inside was the golden time turner. It was rattling around, bumping into the walls of the box. "What do you say Laney, should we try it out?" Addison asked, seeming very hopeful. Laney thought for a moment. What would be the best way to go about this? "We'll try it out, but we must change out of our pajamas, you know, in case we do end up getting lost in time."
"Yes! This is going to be amazing! I promise you, you won't regret your decision!" said Addison. The two got dressed, and Laney grabbed her messenger bag, shoving things inside of it. "I'm not completely sure of what we'll need, but I am bringing a few crystals, a book, and my spectrespecs. You know, in case any Wrackspurts are lurking. Anything you want to bring?" she asked. Addison shook her head. "Nope, I think I should be okay!" "Okay, let's go then!" Laney said, slinging her bag around her body and grabbing her case.
