-In The Adventures of Laney Scamander, we see that Laney takes her case almost everywhere, but in the second story, we see that she mainly keeps her case in her room. I feel that so far, we do not focus as much on the magical creatures as we did in the first story.

-Laney is now 15, and turned 15 on 2/15, which would therefore mean that Laney had her golden birthday.

-The year is 2024

-I wanted the beginning to seem light and airy, and make it gradually get darker and darker.

-I knew I wanted to incorporate Rita Skeeter in this story because I read something about her making rude comments on Rolf and Luna's wedding. It felt mandatory for me to add her in, even if she didn't play a big role or make a huge plot change.
The "fight" between Rita and Laney was not planned. I was just thinking of how amazing and hilarious it would be for Rita to get schooled by a 15 year old.

-While I built Laney's character, I also had to think about building Rolf's character. We don't really know who Rolf Scamander is, we are only really aware of his Grandfather and Grandmother.

-When building Laney's character, I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and took note of every little detail that Newt has so I could add it into her character. Turns out, I had already done that. Look at me being ahead of the game.

-I usually wrote in class when I had free time.

-Before sharing the 1st story on Wattpad, I showed it to one of my friends and one of my teachers.

-I wrote out the majority of these notes in class.

-"My mind isn't on another planet, it's in another universe." That should totally be a Laney quote

-Chapter two is not only called roaches because of the grilled cockroaches that Addison tries, but it is called that because a common derogatory term I have heard is "roach" In this certain situation, Rita is the roach.

-Last story, I felt as if my chapters were too short, so I wanted to make them a bit longer this time around.
In my homeroom class I came up with

-"The Hedgedog" which is a dog with hedgehog spikes.

-At first, I was going to have Laney and Addison run into the Hedgedog in the forest on or the streets, but I decided to only include the information about the Hedgedog's spikes.

-The Unislug, Octoplus, and Hedgedog are my own creatures.

-I got the idea for the Unislug from those snail fidget toys. When I was on a trip to Florida, we went to one of the souvenir shops down by the beach, and I got a unicorn slug creature. I combined the name and got Unislug, and came up with its characteristics.

-I got the idea for the Octoplus when I was in the middle of writing The Adventures of Laney Scamander, and decided to add it in at the last second. The inspiration was from those popular octopus toys that surfaced the internet in 2021 that you can flip either way to get a different face. I was originally going to have something like that, (with the flipping of the heads) but I decided a two headed octopus would be better, hence the name Octoplus.

-There's no published works from JK Rowling that involve a Ravenclaw main character, so I knew I wanted Laney to be a Ravenclaw (and because I am also a Ravenclaw)

-Many people have made the argument that Neville Longbottom should be in Hufflepuff, so I put his son in it.

-In The Adventures of Laney Scamander, Gryffindor house is mentioned very little.

-I came up with the idea of having two more stories when I was nearing the end of finishing The Adventures of Laney Scamander.

-My thought process for making more stories about Laney was,"If they're going to cancel Fantastic Beasts and not give us another story about a Scamander and his friends going on crazy adventures, then I'll have to take matters into my own hands." Very funny thought process, I must admit.
