Laney shut her suitcase shut, the crowd still staring at her and the case. Dumbledore chuckled. "It's like they've never seen a magical case before." he said. Laney picked up her case, watching the crowd. Scarlett stared at Laney intensely, almost as intensely as the crowd of people. Addison ran over to Laney.
"Are you alright?" Laney asked her. "I'm fine, are you?" Addison asked. "Yeah, I think so." Laney said. Addison hugged her, feeling a wave of happiness. Laney hugged her back, though her body was stiff from shock (and the fact that she just wasn't much of a hugger.)
"So, do you still want help with your time troubles?" Dumbledore asked. Addison nodded. "Yes, please do help us, I have the time turner right here in fact!" said Addison, pulling out the time turner which was tucked behind her jumper. She then handed it to Dumbledore, who took a closer look at it. "It's enchanted." he said. The crowd gasped.
"How do you know?" asked Newt. "Well, it's hardly noticeable, but it's a bit shimmery around it. Only the keenest of eyes can spot it." said Dumbledore. Scarlett's eyes were on the time turner. Addison looked at her. "How did you do it?" Addison asked. "Do what?" Scarlett asked, harshness pricking her tone. "Enchant it of course." Laney said. "It was all just a part of the plan you see. Plus, the spell was fairly easy, I just casted Obstructionum." Scarlett said.
Dumbledore pulled out his wand. "Lavare." he said. Laney watched the shimmer float away into the air. "Well, it should work now." Dumbledore said. Laney nodded and took the time turner. "Wait, before we go, there's one last thing we have to do." she said. "What are we doing?" Addison asked. "Well, I think it'd be best to Obliviate a few of them so as to not mess things up." Laney said. Dumbledore smiled. "Don't worry, I know who needs to be Obliviated. You two go ahead and go on." he said.
"Really?" Addison asked. Dumbledore nodded. With that, Laney handed the time turner to Addison, who wrapped the time turner's chain around the two of them. "Time is running out Scamander! Just you wait, you won't be getting your happy ending next time around!" Scarlett said.
Laney looked at Scarlett one last time. "I will be interested in seeing what you have prepared." she said. Addison then turned the time turner, and soon the two of them vanished.
The two closed their eyes, not daring to open them until everything felt like it wasn't spinning. Laney opened her eyes ever so slightly, and felt a wave of relief wash over her once she saw that she was back in her room. "Are we still alive?" Addison asked, her eyes still shut. Laney looked around. "It appears we are." she said. Addison opened her eyes. "Oh thank Dumbledore!" she exclaimed. Addison took the chain off her and Laney and set it on Laney's desk. "I never want to tinker with time again. That was horrendous!"
Laney nodded. "Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so." She stood and thought for a moment. "Okay, if anyone asks about anything, we'll tell them we were in the woods camping!" Addison nodded. "Perfect! Love the idea!" "Here, we can use some of my dirtied up clothes that I use for gardening." Laney said, who was searching in her wardrobe for the clothes. She pulled out a few pairs of dirty pants and a couple plain shirts. She then sat her case down, went inside, and grabbed a bit of dirt from the Niffler's habitat, rubbing it on the clothes.
Laney then made her way back up into her bedroom. "There, now it looks like we've been camping." she said. Addison took one of the shirts and a pair of pants. "Perfect! Now the tricky part, getting outside without anyone noticing."
Laney thought for a moment. "Through the window." Addison peered at her curiously. "We'll go through the window." Laney said. "We'll cast a cushioning charm on our way down. It should be fine!" "That's what you said last time!" Addison said. "Just, trust me on this one. Besides, Scarlett and those men aren't here, so there's no way anyone could possibly get us." said Laney. Addison sighed. "Fine, but if this doesn't work, we'll have to tell your parents the truth!"
After the two had changed, Laney opened her window and peered down. "It's not too far of a fall if the charm doesn't work!" she said. Laney then pulled out her wand and casted Molliare. She then jumped down. Addison watched her, feeling rather horrified. "Everything is fine! I'm still alive, no broken bones or anything!" said Laney. Addison then walked over towards the window, casting Molliare, her eyes shut tight.
She then opened her eyes once she realized everything had gone according to plan. "It worked!" she exclaimed. Laney nodded, and casted clausa on her window. The window then shut, though making a rather loud noise. "Let's be off then!" Laney said, making her way down to the forest. Addison followed after her. "I thought we were just going to pretend to camp out?" Addison asked. Laney smiled. "Well, we could do that, but what's life without a little adventure?"
