"God I can't wait to get out of here." I sighed under my breath.

"What was the hun?" Nikki asked, walking into the bedroom.

"Oh uh nothing, just can't wait to sleep in my own bed" I smile. "No offense but your bed kinda sucks"

"It's hard to compare beds when I'm able to fuck you fro-"

"DO NOT- finish that sentence..." I cut him off.

"Yes ma'am" he whispered in my ear.

"Come on, I miss my cats." I zipped up my suitcase.

"Since when did you have cats?" Nikki asked, surprised.

"How the hell did you not know I have cats? Sammy? Socks?" I lower my voice.

     "Socks?" he raises an eyebrow.

"Because his paws are white." I defend.

     "What-ever" he rolls his eyes.

As I finished packing my suitcase, I couldn't help but notice Nikki's excessive luggage. He seemed to be bringing back way more than he had arrived with. I shook my head in amusement, thinking to myself that he cared more about his appearance than any chick I had ever met.

"Seriously, Nikki? Are you planning on moving in here permanently?" I teased, gesturing to his pile of bags.

He chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Well, you never know. Your comfy bed might just change my mind."

I playfully rolled my eyes, knowing he was just being his usual flirtatious self. "You're impossible."

Nikki sauntered over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me in for a warm embrace. "And you're reeeeeally hot" he kissed my cheek.

"Hmhmhm" I smiled. "Let's go, I don't want to miss our flight." I peck his lips.

Nikki and I have been at the airport for almost 5 hours now. The flight was delayed for 4 fours due to weather in Chicago. I called my mom when they announced the delay to ask what the news was and she said that there were some pretty nasty thunderstorms but they were over by the time I called. The storm seemed to be moving west, supposedly making the flight crew nervous and making me pissed off. We ended up having dinner at one of the airport restaurants and he fell asleep in some lounge chairs we found. I decided to call Jen since I haven't talked to her since we left for California.

"I'm surprised you're calling me" she laughed

"Oh yeah? Whys that?" I ask.

"I figured you'd be too busy fucking your new boy toy to even remember who I am" I could feel her smirk on the other end of the line.

I blushed on my end "I can even fight you on that Jen" I laughed. "I swear to god- this boy has got me under some kind of spell" I lowered my voice and looked in Nikki's direction as he was dreaming away. "He's just so..." I sighed. "He's really pretty!" I laughed nervously. "Like really REALLY pretty!"

"You look good on him, not gonna lie. But I still think you need to be cautious with this whole situation" she warned.

"I know... he's actually been really good though. I know he doesn't look like marriage material but am I really gonna go through with all of that?" I bite my nails.

"Well, this got deep really quickly." Jen replied.

"He makes me so crazy, Jen- I have never felt this way before and all I want to do is be with him all the time. Is that some kind of psycho-attachment problem or what?" I ramble.

"Well you did tell him you love him so... you kinda screwed yourself already."

"He makes me want to do so many things" I sigh.

    "Like what?" she sounded disgusted.

     "Nooo not like that!"

     "Then what?" she asked.

"Like travel, take spontaneous trips, try new things, and just... live, you know?" I replied, feeling a mix of excitement and vulnerability.

Jen chuckled on the other end. "Wow, you're really smitten, huh? And when you say "new things" it better not mean drugs." she sighed " I've never heard you talk like this before. "

"Yeah, it's weird," I admitted. "I mean, I'm not naive. I know things might not always be perfect, but right now, at this moment, everything feels so right... except for the chance I may have fucked everything up before it even started" I threw my head in my hand.

"Why? What did you do?" she asked.

"Something that I don't really want to say over the phone... I'll talk to you when I get back."

"Just remember to keep your head on straight," Jen advised. "It's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of emotions, especially when things are intense."

"Tell me about it" I pick at my nails.

"Call me when you get home, ok?"

     "Yeah.."

     "Bye Aria."

As I hung up the phone, I glanced over at Nikki, who was still dozing in the lounge chairs. A soft smile played on my lips as I watched him sleep. Hours later, we finally boarded the plane, and Nikki woke up groggily as we settled into our seats. The storm that had delayed us had passed, and the skies were now clear. As the plane taxied down the runway and lifted off into the air, I felt a huge pit form in my stomach. Nikki reached over and took my hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. He whispered "It's ok baby. I'm right here."

I leaned my head against his shoulder, trying to find comfort. As the flight continued, I stole glances at Nikki, his features softened by the dim cabin lights. He caught me looking and flashed a warm smile, his eyes reflecting the connection between us. Despite my worries and doubts, being with him felt like the most natural thing in the world. I intertwined my fingers with his, silently conveying my gratitude for his calming presence.

The landing was shaky but the circling view we took over Lake Michigan was beautiful. Walking to baggage claim was quiet- we were exhausted and all we wanted to do was cuddle under the covers. We passed a girl who was wearing a University of Alabama sweater and all of a sudden, thoughts of college were popping into my head. I don't know what it was- and it couldn't have been just that but something was setting me off. I began to second guess every decision I made in the last year and now I feel like my stomach fell out of my body. Every step I took made me want to hurl. I leaned my forehead on Nikki's shoulder when we finally stopped walking and at this point- all I'm doing is hoping... praying that these are the right choices.

"Aria? Are you ok?" Nikki ran his hand over my back.

"Let's just go as soon as we get the bags, ok?"

He kissed my forehead "Sure thing honey."
