SHELBY

It all happened so fast. My excitement drowned out the other emotions that were trying to hold me back, but for once in my life, I finally followed my heart.

Every kiss and every touch felt just right. It was like this was exactly what we needed to start anew. Clearing out the tension and diving into something thrilling and a bit dangerous.

His lips covered my neck with kisses, and I tilted my head back, moaning in pleasure. I felt like I was in heaven, and that's all I wanted.

We stumbled into his bedroom, our lips still locked as his fingers worked on the buttons of my blouse.

The cold air from the AC made my skin prickle, but his closeness quickly warmed me up.

My hands slid under his shirt as we broke the kiss, pulling it over his head and tossing it aside.

I unbuttoned my jeans and slid them off. He grabbed my waist, pulling me close, his bare chest against my bra.

"Do you know how incredibly hot you are?" His voice was raspy and low.

I smirked. "I've been told."

"Jesus Christ, you're perfect. Always been since high school, and honestly, words can't describe it."

I grinned and gently pulled him closer by the back of his neck, leaning in for another kiss. His lips met mine with an eager intensity, and we slowly eased onto the bed together.

His kisses trailed down to my neck, causing me to close my eyes as his soft tongue brushed against my skin.

Shifting his weight on top of me, he moved from side to side. When I opened my eyes, I noticed he was now only in his boxers, his pants nowhere in sight.

And that's when I felt it.

His arousal pressing against the silk of my panties. The heat surged from my stomach, spreading like wildfire through my body.

I've been intimate with Michael countless times, but this feels different. It's a pleasure that leaves you yearning for more, and it's a bit unsettling, in an exciting way.

Yet, reflecting on our earlier conversation, I realized there was no need to be afraid. It's time I embraced these new sensations and learned to respond to them.

Everything about this moment feels right. I've stopped running from it, and I'm looking forward to a fresh start with him. Since it's our first night back together, I want to make it truly special.

OoO

A loud blaring sound in the background jolted me out of a great dream. I let out a groan and reached out, expecting my hand to land on my phone on the nightstand, as usual.

However, my hand just passed through thin air, which led me to open my eyes in confusion. It hit me that there was no nightstand by my bed.

For a moment, panic set in, but then the memories from last night flooded back, and I realized I was in William's bedroom.

Back when we lived together, I never had a chance to see his room. Even though we were "quite busy" last night, I didn't really get the chance to take it all in.

Looking around now, the shock from earlier made sense.

Shifting position, I spotted him still sleeping next to me. He lay on his back, one arm over his head on the pillow, the other resting on my waist.

He actually looked even more handsome while sleeping, which is pretty ridiculous. Who looks this good while asleep?

But I could definitely get used to waking up like this.

I slipped out of bed quietly, being careful not to disturb him. We had been up almost all night, so he could use some more sleep.

I picked one of his white dress shirts from the closet and put it on, then made my way out of the room to the bathroom for a shower. I grabbed my scattered clothes on the way out. I'd taken all my stuff when I moved out, so I had nothing fresh to change into after showering.

After finishing up in the bathroom, I headed to the kitchen to make some coffee. My steps halted when I saw him in the kitchen, pouring coffee into two cups on the counter.

He was shirtless, wearing only grey sweatpants, and a silver chain dangled from his neck, just like last night.

Seeing him so casually attractive, with minimal clothes on, sent butterflies fluttering in my stomach, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Morning coffee, Miss Falcon?" he teased without looking up.

I hopped onto a barstool, resting my arms on the marble counter, smirking at him.

"Cream and two sugars. Just how you know I like it," He slid a cup my way.

Our eyes locked, and I wrapped my hands around the cup, feeling the warmth of the coffee and the brush of his fingers against mine.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."

We sipped our coffee in silence, our eyes maintaining a gentle connection. I put my cup down and glanced at my phone.

"Are you late for work?" he asked with a touch of concern.

"Not exactly, I still need to get some things done at the office so it's alright."

"I'll give you a lift," he offered quickly.

"I've got my car here."

"No worries, leave it here. James will drop it off at your workplace later. Let me take you today. Please?"

His pleading tone and the look in his eyes had me convinced. He didn't need to ask twice.

Before leaving, I texted Adam to prepare a proper outfit for me at the office. Casual attire just wouldn't do for the day.

William had a single appointment today, leaving him with time before that.

A text from Michael appeared on my phone, and my heart sank. I hadn't spoken to him since leaving the hospital.

He was asking if I was free for dinner tonight, but that wasn't in the cards anymore.

I was with William now.

The car pulled up in front of my workplace, and I unfastened my seatbelt, ready to step out.

"Thanks for-" I began, but he cut me off with a sudden kiss.

It caught me off guard, and I instinctively responded. He pulled away, locking eyes with me.

"Call me when you're done."

The tone was firm, leaving no room for negotiation. That side of him surprised me, and I found myself falling for it immediately.

I said my goodbyes and watched as he drove off until the car was out of sight.

I stood there for a moment, texting Michael to meet me at the café across the street from the office.

It was a new day, and William and I were starting a real relationship. I didn't want any complications down the line.

And starting with the first one, is by dealing with Michael and setting some things straight.
