They were only two years apart in age, and they were brother and sister, and through their father's, they were also third cousins, who were second cousin, Lord Andrew Charles Howard, Duke of Norfolk Territory and Lord Richard William Carey, Duke of Bedford Territory, both the great-grandsons of Lord Frederick William Howard, the 2nd Duke of Norfolk Territory and through two of his children, Lord Charles Andrew Howard Senior and Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard.

They have the same mother, Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann, Marchioness of Marquess Territory on Star Base 12.
