Part V: Times of Peril

Third Person, Omniscient

When Thalia woke up she could feel the warm sun coming in from the open window above her, her body didn't hurt as much and the medicine had successfully calmed her stomach.

She lifted herself upright groaning as she pushed the hair away from her face looking around the room to find it empty, yet all the blinds had been opened letting light peek through all over the trailer.

It didn't make her mood any better, standing up she stretched listening to her bones as they popped and cracked.

Shuffling toward the dresser she shrugged on a hoodie letting herself stay in the shorts and sliding on sneakers without socks letting them stay untied, she swayed slightly grabbing the wood to steady herself.

Her watch read twelve which either meant it was 11 am or her watch had reset again, reaching forward she grabbed a set of keys and left the trailer.

The sun was even worse when she got outside causing her to pull her hood up over her head, people were scattered around moving things around and working per usual.

She decided on just walking until she found a familiar face, it didn't take long for her to reach the front gate where she found Maggie talking with someone else her eyebrows knitted together.

Walking up she hovered behind the woman as the conversation rolled to an end, she turned around to face the girl smiling sadly down at her.

"Why do you look so grumpy, still sick?" she hummed patting the younger's back.

Thalia raised an eyebrow, "No I'm tired, how did you know I was sick?"

"Carl busted into my trailer last night looking for those nausea pills I took when I was pregnant, nearly gave me a heart attack while he was at it."

Looking down she smiled to herself shaking her head before looking back up and shrugging, "I feel better, stressed but better."

Maggie nodded, "You should take a little vacation, stay in oceanside for a few days let yourself reset. Maybe after you'll be ready to I dunno hold a gun again," she suggested.

Rolling her eyes she took a step back, "Why is everyone so stuck on the fact that I don't want to fight anymore, I'm tired can't that be enough to be done with it?"

The woman shook her head taking the girl by her arm and walking with her away from the gates.

"No one's stuck we're just concerned, you're not one to surrender this easily," she hummed.

Thalia shifted her gaze across the community are spotting the familiar green hoodie that immediately stole her attention, letting the other go she mumbled something about needing to pee before rushing away.
