As Frisk followed Toriel, the goat lady, through the hall they arrived at a place with a door and six buttons on the floor. Frisk watched as Toriel stepped on four of the buttons and a lever appeared which she pulled and the door to the next room opened.
Frisk guessed that there would be many of these kinds of puzzles as they walked through the halls. Toriel taught them about the puzzles, Frisk had to pull levers, the pattern to walk across a large spike maze, how to survive being alone(although she only hid behind a pillar while Frisk walked through the hall).
Toriel even taught Frisk about Fight, Mercy, Act, and Item. Of course that helped when Frisk ran into frogs named Froggit. "I must go for a bit stay here, I will lend you a cell phone so we can stay in touch," Toriel smiled and handed Frisk a phone before walking to the next part of the hall.
Frisk's curious it's got the better of them as they made their way to the next hallway. Just then the phone rang, "You haven't left the room yet right? There are puzzles ahead I haven't explained to you it would be dangerous to go alone." The call ended and Frisk continued on.
Monsters.....beings....things appeared that caused Frisk to panic slightly before remembering what Toriel taught them, Whimsuns, Froggits, Moldsmals.....and talking rocks....?
Sometimes Toriel would call and ask about what their favorite thing was or if they had any allergies, as Frisk tried to figure out puzzles and make it through them. Eventually after a long time of puzzles and being very low on hp with their soul Frisk reached a place where there were two halls.
Frisk went down the second where there was a toy knife, they decided to leave it, not wanting to hurt any of the beings in the underground. They went back to the first hall where a large shadow like tree was and Toriel came down and saw them.
"Oh dear child how did you get here?! Are you hurt?!" Toriel rushed to them and held them close before healing them. "I shouldn't have left you alone like that, it was irresponsible of me. I was going to surprise you, though I guess I still can," Toriel took Frisk's hand and led them to a homey and sweet smelling house.
Frisk was confused why Toriel thought leaving them alone was bad, as their father often did it. Regardless it felt nice to know an adult was nicer than him and that a home could feel comfortable and calm instead of hostile and like you had to walk on eggshells carefully. Even if Frisk only entered the house a couple seconds ago, Frisk felt at home for the first time.
