Wow the title gives away a lot... oops. BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN UNTIL YOU READ IT! Okay I'll stop talking again. Byeee!

NEWT'S POV

When I wake up, covered in sweat and with teary eyes and wet cheeks, the sky is starting to turn a light shade of pink and blue. The sun is rising soon.

Tommy.

I stand up as quickly as I can, leaving a Newt-shaped spot of flattened grass where I had been sleeping. I'm facing the wall, waiting for the noise to fill the air and the ground to start shaking. Waiting for my beautiful Tommy. With every thought of him, a shiver of fear shoots down my spine. What if- No. No, he's gonna be standing there, alive and well. I'll be able to hold him in my arms again, and never let go. I sigh in anticipation for the noise. And thats when the ground starts shaking heavily.

Boys come sprinting from the Homestead, and start gathering around me. Whispers can be heard, but are almost inaudible because of the noise. "Do you think they made it?" a boy says to another one. "Of course not, the Grievers will-" he answers, but my anger makes me interrupt him. "Shut it. Of course they made it." I snap at him. All I get back is a face full of sarcasm. "Ya think? No one has ever survived a night in the Maze," he says, in my face, "and I don't think your little boyfriend will beat that record." "SHUT UP!" I shout. He walks away, scoffing. Anger fills my guts, but then I remember the doors opening. I focus on the door again, only to find that it's almost fully opened. I push my way through the crowd, and run to the opening that leads into the dreadful, dark Maze. No one to be found. I notice my breathing getting heavier because of the fear that races though my veins, and I sprint to the first corridor and turn around it.

It's dark at first, but my eyes adjust to the dim light quickly. A figure's lying against the wall, eyes closed. My world crumbles apart and I run in its direction, as fast as I can.

Thomas.

I throw myself to the ground next to him, and start to shake his shoulders. Tears make their way down my cheeks, leaving tiny wet spots on his dirty t-shirt. "Thomas?" I whisper, not being able to say it louder because of the sobs. He doesn't react. "Tommy!" I say, louder this time. I cup his face with my hands, and lay my own head on his shoulder. "Thomas!" I scream, sobbing violently. No reaction.

This time, it is not a dream.

He's gone.

I close my eyes and bury my face in his chest. All of the fear and anger leaves my body as I sob, until my head feels as if it's going to implode any time soon.

After what feels like a century, I wipe my nose and look at my beautiful Tommy one last time. I stand up and turn away from him. Time seems to slow down as I leave the one I love the most behind.

But just as I'm about to turn around the corner, I hear a voice.

"Newt..?"
