The next day, Mini-Sun was tasked with filling the same role that Sundrop had prior to that event that took place the week before.

"Okay," he thought, "Surely this can't be hard... right?"

Well... to put it simply... it wasn't as easy as he thought it'd be.

For one, he had to clean literally everything that the kids would leave behind. And he did it... surprisingly well.

Another thing was making sure nobody was misbehaving.

It was hard to enforce the daycare rules without Sundrop since Mini-Sun was programmed to be a 12-year-old boy and not a lot of kids at the daycare took him as seriously as they did Sundrop before this because he was programmed to be a minor.

And then there was his Fizzy Faz addiction.

Most of the kids weren't allowed to have caffeine, but whenever naptime came around, Mini-Sun would sneak to the nearest Fizzy Faz machine and always get himself a few drinks of Fizzy Faz, and often he'd be more energetic after naptime because of the contents of Fizzy Faz.

Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months.

In that span of time, the kids slowly realized just what Elise said to Mini-Sun before this, and they didn't hide it from him either.

"Can I call you 'Mr. Sun'? Because you're just like him," they said. "You're like our new babysitter!" they said.

And to all of it, Mini-Sun denied the theories of being the kids' only hope, or their "Miracle" if you will. After all, his flaws made him almost nothing like Sundrop aside from his appearance...

...But they didn't see flaws in Mini-Sun.

They didn't see a flawed sun animatronic living in the shadow of his now-deceased programmed father who was, arguably, much better than he was and ever will be. Rather, they saw a kind and honest young animatronic who, although kind of prone to anxiety, understood the kids and their struggles.

Some even said that Mini-Sun had a very adamant and fixed mindset when it came to people convincing him that he's the miracle they needed.

* * *

Often, when Mini-Sun was left alone with his thoughts, often at naptime, he'd be sitting at the balcony-room that once belonged to his programmed father and ponder everything.

The judgement from the animatronics, the hurtful words said by the kids... how and why did it all suddenly go away now that Sundrop was dead? Was it genuine hatred or was it just something that wore off now that Mini-Sun's only source of care and comfort was gone?

Either way, it didn't make any sense to him since for his understanding, mockery was often amplified when someone's source of comfort was forcefully ripped away from their grasp. So why, then, was that not the case here? Why did they not continue to judge and hurt him after Sundrop died? Why were the kids and a few workers now calling Mini-Sun the miracle they needed? Were they even being serious or did they just have a horrible sense of humor?

None of these questions had a proper answer, but one thing was for sure: Mini-Sun couldn't be Sundrop's true successor! Surely he was too flawed to be the miracle the Superstar daycare was looking for... right?
