Jennie sat on her packed suitcase, her heart heavy. She stared at the ticket in her hand, her eyes welling with tears. Leaving the country was the hardest decision she'd ever made, but she believed it was the right thing to do. Taehyung and Jisoo needed space to mend their relationship, and her presence only seemed to complicate things.
Meanwhile, Taehyung raced through the streets, desperate to reach Jennie before she left. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions—anger, sadness, and confusion. Jisoo had seemed so understanding when she suggested that he should be with Jennie, but something didn't sit right with him. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that he had to stop Jennie from leaving.
Back at the apartment, Jisoo watched the scene unfold from the window, a sinister smile creeping onto her face. Her plan was working perfectly. She had manipulated the situation, pushing Jennie to leave while making it seem like she was being selfless. In truth, she wanted Taehyung all to herself and saw Jennie as an obstacle.
Jennie stood up and wiped her tears, taking a deep breath. As she reached for the doorknob, Taehyung burst through the door, panting and breathless.
"Jennie, don't go!"
he pleaded, his voice cracking with desperation.
"Please, don't leave. We can work this out together."
Jennie shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Tae, this is the best for everyone. You and Jisoo can fix things without me in the picture."
Taehyung grabbed her shoulders, his eyes searching hers.
"No, Jennie, you don't understand. Jisoo... she..."
He paused, unsure of how to articulate his suspicions without sounding paranoid.
"Something doesn't feel right. I think Jisoo... I think she wanted this."
Jennie looked at him, puzzled.
"What do you mean?"
Before Taehyung could explain, Jisoo appeared in the doorway, her face a mask of concern.
"Tae, Jennie, what's going on?"
she asked innocently, though there was a gleam in her eyes that only Taehyung noticed.
Jennie wiped her eyes and forced a smile. "It's okay, eonnie. I'm just... saying goodbye."
Jisoo walked over and hugged Jennie tightly. "I'm so sorry it had to come to this," she whispered, feigning sadness. "But maybe it's for the best. You deserve to be happy, and maybe this is the fresh start you need."
Taehyung's heart sank. He felt trapped, like a puppet in a play he didn't understand. "Jennie, please," he whispered, his voice breaking. "Don't leave me."
Jennie looked at him, her heart aching. She wanted nothing more than to stay, but she felt she had no choice.
"I'm sorry, Tae," she whispered, pulling away from him. "Goodbye."
As Jennie walked out the door, Taehyung fell to his knees, sobbing. Jisoo watched with satisfaction, a small, triumphant smile playing on her lips. She had won. Jennie was gone, and Taehyung was hers.
But as she walked over to comfort Taehyung, she felt a pang of guilt. It was fleeting, quickly replaced by the thrill of victory, but it was there. She pushed it down, reminding herself that she did what she had to do. Taehyung was her soulmate, and she wouldn't let anyone stand in the way of their happiness.
Taehyung looked up at Jisoo, his eyes filled with pain and confusion. "Why does this feel so wrong?" he murmured, almost to himself.
Jisoo knelt beside him, stroking his hair. "Shh, it's okay, Tae. You'll see, this is for the best. Jennie will find happiness, and so will we."
Taehyung nodded, but deep down, he felt an emptiness he couldn't shake. As Jennie's plane took off, he felt a part of his soul leave with her. And though he didn't know it yet, the truth of Jisoo's manipulation would come to light, leaving a trail of heartbreak and betrayal in its wake.
Jisoo stood up, helping Taehyung to his feet. "Come on, let's go home," she said softly, hiding her smile. She had won this battle, but the war was far from over. Little did she know, her actions would set off a chain of events that would change their lives forever.
