Chapter 23: The Morning After

The morning sun streamed through the hotel room's curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. Taehyung stirred awake, feeling an unusual heaviness in his body and a strange sense of disorientation. As he blinked his eyes open, he realized he was lying next to Jisoo, both of them in a state of undress. His mind raced, trying to piece together the events of the previous night.

Jisoo was already awake, sitting on the edge of the bed with a tense expression. She looked at Taehyung with a mixture of anxiety and anticipation. She had hoped that this trip, a brief getaway to a secluded resort, would help them reconnect. But now, as she watched him waking up, a knot of guilt twisted in her stomach.

Taehyung sat up, rubbing his temples. He asked "what happened last night? " his voice rough with sleep. "I don't remember much after dinner."

Jisoo hesitated, forcing a smile. "We had a few drinks, and then... we got intimate," she said, her voice uncertain.

Taehyung's brow furrowed. He knew his limits when it came to alcohol, and something felt off. "Intimate?" he repeated, a cold edge creeping into his voice. "I don't remember agreeing to that. Did... did you do something?"

Jisoo's heart pounded. She had hoped to avoid this confrontation, but she could see the suspicion growing in his eyes. "Taehyung, please, don't overthink it," she tried to soothe him. "We were both in the moment."

Taehyung's expression darkened. "In the moment? Jisoo, I can't remember anything. Are you sure nothing happened that I should know about?"

Jisoo looked away, guilt washing over her. She could see that her attempt to manipulate the situation was backfiring. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. "I... I wanted us to reconnect, Taehyung. I thought if we... if we were closer, it might help."

Taehyung's eyes narrowed. "Help with what?" he demanded. "Jisoo, what did you do?"

Jisoo bit her lip, the weight of her actions pressing down on her. She knew she had crossed a line, but the desperation to save their relationship had clouded her judgment. " i...i. Put..something in your drink" she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "It was just to help you relax, to... to make things easier."

Taehyung's face went pale, and then flushed with anger. "You drugged me?" he shouted, standing up abruptly. "What the hell, Jisoo? How could you do something like that? Do you have any idea how messed up that is?"

Jisoo recoiled, tears welling in her eyes. "I just wanted to save us, Taehyung," she pleaded. "I thought if we were closer, we could fix things. I didn't mean to hurt you."

But Taehyung was beyond reasoning. He paced the room, his fists clenched, trying to contain his fury. "Fix things? This is not how you fix things! You've violated my trust, Jisoo. Do you even realize how serious this is? I trusted you, and you went behind my back. How low can you go?"

Jisoo sobbed, her hands trembling. "I was desperate, Taehyung! The doctor said it might be hard for me to get pregnant because of the pills I used to take. I thought... I thought this might be our only chance."

Taehyung stopped, staring at her with a mix of disbelief and disgust. "So this is about having a baby?" he said coldly. "You did all this just to get pregnant? Without even talking to me about it?"

Jisoo nodded, tears streaming down her face. "I thought it would bring us closer, that we could start fresh with a family."

Taehyung laughed bitterly, shaking his head. "A family built on lies and manipulation? You think a baby will fix our problems? You're delusional, Jisoo. You can't just force something like this."

He turned away, his voice trembling with anger. "I can't believe you would do this to me. To us. I don't even know who you are anymore."

Jisoo reached out to him, her voice desperate. "Taehyung, please, I didn't mean for it to be like this. I just wanted to save us. I love you."

Taehyung shrugged off her touch, his face hard. "Love? This isn't love, Jisoo. This is control, manipulation. You've betrayed me in the worst way possible."

He grabbed his clothes, quickly dressing as Jisoo watched helplessly. "I can't do this," he muttered, more to himself than to her. "I need to get out of here, away from you."

As he stormed out of the room, Jisoo collapsed onto the bed, sobbing uncontrollably. She had hoped that this trip would bring closer, they could find a way to reconnect. But instead she had pushed taehyung futher away, possibly beyond repair.

The door slammed shut behind him.
Leaving jisoo alone in the room.she curled up on the bed,her body wrecked with sobs. She had lost taehyung and with him the last shred of hope she had been clinging to.all she could feel was deep, crushing sense of regret and despair, knowing he had none but herself to balme.
