On her first day, Jimin had welcomed Jennie with a friendly smile, offering to help her settle in. He had shown her around the apartment, explaining the quirks of the old building and giving her tips on the best local spots to visit. Jennie had been grateful for his kindness, though she was hesitant to get too close to anyone. She had come here to escape, to find some distance from the pain she had left behind.

Over the weeks, however, Jimin had become a constant presence in her life. He would often check in on her, making sure she was adjusting well to her new surroundings. He was the epitome of sweetness, always respectful and considerate. He never overstepped his boundaries, sensing her need for space. Yet, he had a way of making her feel comfortable, like she could let her guard down around him.

One evening, Jimin knocked on her door, holding a steaming cup of hot chocolate. "I thought you might need this," he said with a shy smile. "It's getting colder, and this always helps me warm up."

Jennie smiled, accepting the drink. "Thank you, Jimin. You're too kind."

He shrugged, leaning against the doorframe. "It's no trouble. Besides, I know what it's like to be in a new country, feeling a bit lost. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask."

Jennie nodded, touched by his sincerity. "I appreciate that. Really."

They stood there in comfortable silence for a moment, sipping their drinks. Jennie felt a twinge of guilt; Jimin was kind, and his company was a welcome distraction, but her heart was still firmly anchored in the past. She knew it wasn't fair to him or to herself to let anyone in when she was still so entangled in her feelings for Taehyung.

As Jimin left, Jennie closed the door and walked over to her small desk. She opened a drawer and pulled out a delicate silver locket, holding it in her palm. The locket was a gift from Taehyung.Inside was a tiny photo of the two of them, smiling and happy. She remembered the day vividly—the laughter, the shared moments, the love that had felt so pure and unbreakable.

Jennie ran her thumb over the smooth surface of the locket, a wave of emotion washing over her. She had tried to distance herself from her memories, hoping that being in a new place would help her heal. But no matter how far she went, the memories followed her, haunting her thoughts and dreams.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at the photo inside the locket. She missed Taehyung more than she could put into words. Despite everything, he still held a piece of her heart, a piece she couldn't reclaim. The realization was both comforting and heartbreaking. She had hoped that time and distance would help her move on, but it seemed that her feelings were more deeply rooted than she had thought.

Jennie sighed, closing the locket and placing it gently back in the drawer. She wiped away her tears, taking a deep breath. She knew she couldn't stay stuck in the past forever. She needed to find a way to move forward, even if it meant facing the pain head-on. But for now, she allowed herself this small moment of vulnerability, a brief indulgence in the memories of what once was.

As she lay down to sleep that night, Jennie felt a mix of emotions. She was grateful for Jimin's friendship and kindness, but she also knew she wasn't ready to let anyone new into her heart. It was still too raw, too soon. She needed time to heal, to rediscover who she was outside of her relationship with Taehyung.

For now, she would focus on her work, on exploring the city, and on finding herself again. And maybe, just maybe, in time, the pain would lessen, and she would be able to open her heart to new possibilities. Until then, she would hold on to the good memories, cherish them, and let them guide her as she navigated this new chapter of her life.
