Many children played around on the playground as they laughed and screamed with delight. Filling the park up with joy, making the place seem so pure. However, every place that seems like heaven to a child, also has a shadow.

A young chubby girl with pigtails played in the sandbox on her own, seeming to be trying to make herself a sandcastle. That was until a group of boys her age stomped on her once perfect masterpiece. "Hey it's our turn to play in the sandbox!" The lead boy stated, placing a hand on his hips as he smirked down at the girl.

She fiddled with her hands shyly before saying, "There is enough room for both of us to play." The little girl claimed, gesturing to how big the sandbox was as she stood up. "We can share." She added giving them a smile as she picked up the plastic shovel she was using, handing it over to the boy.

The boy glowered down at her before shoving her harshly into the sand, "Why would we want to share with a fatty like you? You might just eat our toys." The boys behind him laughed as he snickered, seeming proud of himself as the little girl sniffled, rubbing her eyes trying to rub out the sand.

Their laughter ended quickly though as a rock came flying seemingly out of nowhere, hitting the mean boy square in the head. "Hey! Leave her alone!" The pigtailed girl turned her head, her eyes widening seeing another little girl that looked like her age, and a boy seeming to be a year or so older with his arms crossed. The pigtail girl couldn't help but notice the other girl's amber colored eyes; they almost looked like flames as she glared at the group of boys. Her brother had the same eyes, were they siblings?

"Who do you think you are huh!?" The boy questioned the two as he held his head from where the rock made impact, tears welling up in his eyes.

The boy standing behind her cracked his knuckles as a crazed smile danced along his features, "Wanna find out?" The little boys looked utterly terrified before they began to cry, as they bolted away from the two.

The amber eyed girl walked up to the girl with pigtails, smiling warmly, "Are you ok? They didn't hurt you did they?" She questioned in a soft tone, holding out her hand to her.

The girl with pigtails shook her head, taking the other girl's hand, allowing to help her up, "N-No, they didn't." She said with a sniffle as she looked at her crushed castle. "But they destroyed my castle just as I completed it." The pigtail girl felt tears welling in her eyes, this time it wasn't because of the sand.

"Hey don't cry. We can help you make another one!" The other girl beamed as she bent down picking up the plastic shovel while the boy picked up a bucket, the two turning to smile in the pigtail girl's direction.

"R-Really? You want to play with me?" She questioned as she pointed to herself.

The amber colored eyed girl shrugged, "Sure why not. You seem nice." She then sat down in the sand as the boy sat down next to his sister. "I'm (Y/N) by the way, this is my big brother Damon." (Y/N) spoke, before gesturing to the light brown haired boy beside her. "What's your name?"

The girl in pigtails smiles, "My name's Crystal."

I sat in the classroom, drawing in my sketchbook as a new idea for a design popped up in my head, a smile dancing on my features. Jay was looking over my shoulder, watching me with a content smile on his features.

"We have a transfer student." I peeked my head up as the teacher spoke, stopping my sketching momentarily.

"Another one?" I hear Zack mumble as he leaned his face on his bandaged arm. "Hopefully not as annoying as the last- Ow hey!" Zack snapped his attention over me as I threw my pencil at him to which the two of us were glaring at one another. I then heard questions circulating whether it's going to be a guy or a girl, same question I got when I transferred here. Although who would be transferring so close to winter break?
