Damon paced outside the waiting room, the surgery light still on. "I should've called her or something." He mumbled to himself as he began to bite his nails, a nasty habit he developed over the years of constant stress.
"Damon, you couldn't possibly know this would happen. I'm sure she will be just fine." His mother told him softly, trying her best to hide her own fear and despair. Her daughter was in surgery, hoping to fix her rib and stitch up whatever damage the box cutter had done to her organs. "Have you called Gun and Goo?" She questioned, glancing at her son.
"If I tell them now before we know of her condition they would go on a rampage. We don't even know who the culprit is, only a suspect." Damon told her, taking his phone out of his pocket, considering for a moment. "I want to make sure she will live before telling any one of our friends ... or her friends." He told her as he slumped down into the chair, placing his elbows on his knees, head bowed. "Fuck." He hissed, burying his face into his hands. "Little twerp couldn't stay out of trouble."
He felt a warm hand on his shoulder, "You know it wasn't in her control. She was probably trying to help someone." His mother chuckled lightly, as she sat down next to him, her hand remaining on his shoulder. "Remember she got scratched up by a cat trying to help it out of a tree? She fell off a branch and broke her arm."
Damon couldn't help but laugh at the memory, running a hand through his hair as he relaxed his other hand, "You gave her a huge lecture after that."
His mother nodded, "You bet I did, and I'll give her a lecture after this one as well to be more careful." She told him as she leaned her head onto his shoulder. "She's just so hard headed." She mumbled, struggling to hold back her tears, refusing to cry for the sake of her son.
The two then looked up as they heard someone approach, finding the doctor looking over his clipboard. "Good news, she got through surgery with no problems." Damon and his mother let out a sigh of relief. "However, she isn't out of the woods yet. It's true the stab wound missed all vital organs but she lost a lot of blood. We won't know how well she will do till she wakes." The doctor informed both of them, a sympathetic expression on his features.
"Can we see her?" Damon questioned, looking over at the doctor as he kept an arm around his mom, comforting her as she let out a sigh of relief.
The doctor slipped his hand into his lab coat pocket, "We are currently patching her up, we will let you know once we get her in a room."
His mother stood up, bowing to the doctor, "Thank you." The doctor dipped his head before walking away.
Damon took out his phone before saying, "Hey mom, I'm going to let them know now."
"Ok dear, go ahead." She said with a nod as Damon walked away, scrolling through his contacts, not really paying attention where he was going as he bumped into someone, looking down to find Little Daniel. "Oh, sorry. Wasn't paying attention." He said.
"How is she?" Daniel questioned, a glint of worry in his eyes.
Damon smiled, "She survived surgery, now we just have to wait for her to wake up. According to the doc she lost a lot of blood from the stab wound, but it didn't hit any vital organs." Daniel lowered his head, nodding. "Spread the world will ya, I have a whole list myself." Damon said with a wave of his hand as he walked around him, leaving through the hospital doors. He leaned against the wall, bringing the phone to his ear. He heard the other end pick up, "Hey buddy! W-"
"(Y/N)'s in the hospital." Damon interrupted, unable to bear hearing his cheerful tone this time and feared that he would back out of telling him if he let him continue to blabber on. All he heard was silence on the other end, taking it Goo was listening. "She just got out of surgery but they don't know when she will wake up. She lost a lot of-" He then heard Goo hang up on the other end. He sighed, running his hands through his hair. "That isn't good at all." He sighed. "Jesus (Y/N), why did you let your guard down around him?" Damon looked towards the emergency room where the perp the cops suspect was currently still in. Damon's brows then furrowed, "Something's not adding up."
