(Y/N) poured over the text book in front of her. Her eyes scanned over the pages as she absorbed everything she was reading, her eyes scanning over the diagrams in the textbook. She jumped when a hand slammed down in front of her, looking up seeing none other than her brother. "Are you alright?" He questioned in a harsh tone, his cheek swollen with a red handprint on his purplish skin.

She smiled warmly up at him before pointing to her bandaged head, "I'm fine brother. This isn't the first time nor will it be the last." She stated as she slid a bookmark in her textbook before closing it, giving her older brother her full attention. Her father's onslaught hasn't stopped, even now while she is in middle school. "What are you doing here anyway?" (Y/N) questioned, her amber eyes narrowing. "You are going to get in trouble."

"It's fine dad is out. Says he's picking someone important up from Japan or something." Damon spoke with a roll of his eyes. "Besides he wouldn't do much to me." He then sat up on the table with his arms crossed. His gaze then looked down at the book, "Anatomy? You don't have anatomy class." He stated taking the book from her hands as he flipped through the pages.

"I know." She replied, not bothering to reach for the book as she leaned back in her chair. "But doing this will allow me to learn mom's family's fighting style easier." Her brother froze, turning to his sister who held fire in her gaze.

"What? Even dad can't get a hang of it." Damon stated as he closed the book, placing it back on the table.

"Cause he never bothered to do his research." She huffed as she opened the book back up to the diagram of the muscles. "Everything I need is right here. If I learn the human body's weaknesses I can learn to protect those weaknesses and exploit it in others." She stated, looking up at her brother with a dark glint in her eyes.

Damon gave her an unamused look, "Have you even tried to use the technique?" He crossed his arms once again as he lifted one leg over the other.

"Not yet, I have to finish my research first. But I am close to getting there." (Y/N) claimed wincing as she raised her hand to the bandaged part of her head.

"Ok I think that's enough for a research nerd." Damon slammed the book closed causing her to move her hands away quickly. "Come on, let's get your body moving. Since dad is out I can show you a few things I learned!" He exclaimed as he slid off the table while (Y/N) stood up from her chair, a smile spreading across her features.

"Ok!" She exclaimed in return as she and her brother ran down the halls, dodging servants and henchmen along the way as they moved about.

Their mother walked up to the table with a smile, looking down at the book before picking it up, "If anyone can, it's you sweety." She mumbled with a warm smile, a soft look overtaking her features.

I blinked open my eyes, staring up at a familiar ceiling, confusion took over my dazed mind. I then felt something sniffing my ear, looking over to see Lola with a bright smile on her face as she panted. I wrinkled my nose at the smell of her breath, pushing her nose away, "Lola your breath." I gagged before pushing myself up into a sitting position, causing Void, who was apparently on my chest, to jump down into my lap. "Oh sorry Void." I mumbled, rubbing my eyes with the back of my hand.

"Here, drink this." A glass of water was thrusted into my view, I took it from the hand holding it before gulping it down, not realizing how thirsty I was. I looked over to meet with a pair of sunglasses as the man took the glass from my hands before placing it down on the table.

"How'd I get here?" I questioned as I looked around my apartment rubbing my head to which the man reached out to stop me from doing so.

"You got some staples there." He stated in an even tone before taking his hand off my wrist allowing me to drop it to my side. "As for how you got here, Goo came running to my door in the middle of the night saying how you got kidnapped by ghosts." I couldn't help but let out a laugh, a small amused smile appearing on the man's features as he continued to speak. "You did abruptly end the call which, despite it being Goo, was unusual for you. So we went and found out what happened, found you and brought you back here." He stated as he sat down on the couch in front of my feet.
