Epilogue (17 years later)
I opened the car door, holding a bouquet of small flowers. The cold chill of the autumn air hit my face. It seemed to lift the tears off of my face as it flew past me.
I walked down the long path, past lined gravestones until I saw it. It was dusty and dirty and was covered in dead flowers.
It read;
Grace Sutton 1995-2014.
Mom.
My eyes began to water again as I knelt down beside it. "I love you mom. I always will."
I put my hand on the top of her gravestone as if to comfort it, then walked away back to my car.
She was Grace, not only in name, but in essence.
