That's when I saw them. All of them. Including Derek.
I swear my jaw dropped to the floor. He looked at me with the same expression. Then a somewhat evil smirk formed across his face.
I looked to Daniel who seemed to be confused as to what just went on with Derek and I.
I sat down on the worn leather couch in the middle of the room as the four boys stared at me. Daniel grabbed my arm somewhat tightly and took a breath.
"This is Grace." He said looking at the boys. They smiled as if knowing everything about me. Each one came and introduced himself to me.
A boy with combed back blond hair came up to me. He had to at least be 6" if not taller. Even though he was pretty well built, he seemed to be a little smaller then the others. Not in height, but in frame.
"Hello grace... I am Elijah. I'm twenty years old and I've known Daniel for three years now. I've heard a lot about you."
He gave me a slanted smile as I shook his hand saying nice to meet him.
Behind him stood a shorter yet bad boy type of guy. His hair was pitch black and his eyebrows laid perfectly across his forehead. He had a small 5-o-clock shadow on his jawline and a small silver piercing in his lip. He looked so familiar, and I had no idea why.
Once he noticed me staring at him, he stood up to introduce himself, "Hi, I'm Caleb." His piercing moved when he spoke and his eyes seemed to never blink when I was looking.
"Hi..." I said trying to figure out where I've seen him before.
A hand touched my shoulder and I turned around to see a boy with a huge grin on his face. "Hi! I'm Mikey Hunts." By the tone is his voice he was obviously excited.
He was in swimming shorts, so I noticed he didn't have a shirt on right away.
He had to be the biggest guy here. Taller then Elijah, and even better built then Caleb.
I shook his hand and grabbed my suitcases.
"Hey."
I heard a familiar voice come from behind me.
"Don't you forget about me."
It was Derek...
I rolled my eyes and turned around to see him standing there with one eyebrow raised looking at me.
"Sorry..." I replied. "I think we should know each other pretty well, Derek..."
I turned back around and walked away.
The rest of the boys looked puzzled. None of them knew what on Earth had just happened.
Daniel grabbed my other bags and lead me to a room with a large queen size bed in the center.
"My room is right down the hall to the left. Okay?" He looked at me with worried eyes.
"Yea. Thanks again for letting me stay here with you." I sat down on the edge of the bed.
He flipped on beside me and we laid there with our feet dangling off the bed.
"Can I ask you something...?"
"Sure..." My heart dropped. What did he want to know. Would he want to know about Derek? And how I knew him? And why I was so rude to him?
"Do you really like me?"
My eyes shot to his. I wasn't expecting that question...
"Why else would I move across the United States, Daniel..."
We both laughed for a while.
"I should start unpacking..." Was the only thing I could think to say.
"Oh ok, yea. I'll, um just, let you do that then." He gave me a little grin and stood up.
"Do you need any help?" He looked to be as if uncertain of his own question.
"I think I got it." I said looking at the pile of suitcases spread across the floor.
"Ok..." He walked out of the doorway and into the hall.
I walked over to it and slowly shut the door. I turned around and slid down the back of it.
I sat there with my phone in my hands.
I turned it on and looked at my recent messages. Clicking on Derek's name, my eyes grew big looking at the two words he had sent me.
Miss me?
I dropped my phone and sat there. How had he known I was coming? Why was he here? How does he know Daniel?
All of these questions and no way of getting any answers without actually doing something about it.
I have to talk to him. I have to talk to Derek.
Just then I heard a knock on the door. I opened it thinking it was Daniel, but was surprised to see Derek's face appear in the doorway.
He came in putting his rather large, rough hand to my mouth.
I wiggled in his embrace trying to get away from him. His hand restricted my screams.
Once I was calm, he let go. He stood there staring down at me cockily. I had so many questions, but too little words coming out of my mouth.
He grabbed my face with both of his hands and kissed me.
I pulled away immediately. "Derek! What are you doing?! Stop!"
I pushed his body out of the large doorframe and shut and locked the white door.
His fist pounded on it whispering curse words at me until I heard Daniels curious voice asking what he was doing.
A tear slid down my cheek as I remembered the horrible events I had shared with Derek.
"What am I going to do..." I whispered to myself.
Was this really worth all of the memories coming back?
