The walk home was terrible. The three kits got lectured all the way back home. They had just padded up to the camp entrance when a yowl pierced Goldkit's ears.

Dawnflower burst out the camp entrance. "The kits! Their gone! I-" She stopped wailing when she saw Goldkit and Graykit. "Oh... Where's Darkkit?"

"I'm right here." Darkkit squeaked as she shyly stepped forward. Dawnflower urgently rushed over to her and rasped her tongue over Darkkit.

"Don't ever do that again!" Dawnflower hissed between licks. The cats slipped through the camp entrance. Goldkit almost followed but Saphirestar pulled her back.

"I need to talk to you two." She flicked her ear. She was mad. "Dawnflower, I need to speak with Darkkit, too." Goldkit looked at her paws, shame burned her ears. When every cat was gone, Saphirestar sighed.

"Why did you sneak out?" Saphirestar mewed calmly. She was known for keeping her temper under control. Goldkit was speechless. It felt like a huge piece of fresh-kill was stuck in her throat.

"We..." Graykit began.

"Oh no!" Darkkit snapped. "I didn't want to go. I went to keep you two out of trouble! It's all your fault, Graykit!" Darkkit has lost it. She was fed up of Graykit getting her into trouble. He has done stupid things, and dragged both Goldkit and Darkkit with him.

"What? Me! But you wanted to come! You said you were!" Graykit spat. "I was just asking Goldkit!"

"Enough!" Saphirestar hissed. "Now stop fighting. You are not allowed out of the nursery unless you get permission." Saphirestar stalked into the camp entrance. Goldkit looked at Darkkit, who was tearing up.

"It's ok, Darkkit..." Goldkit tried to calm her down.

"No!" She growled. "It's not ok! Because of your lousy brother, I'm in trouble! How will I be a medicine cat while Saphirestar thinks I'm a good for nothing troublemaker!"

Graykit snorted. "Furball! Stop blaming it on me! You-"

"Shut up!" Goldkit screeched. She was tired of them fighting! They both looked at her, like she had a huge tick on her face. She was usually the quiet one. "Graykit! It is your fault for getting us in trouble! And you know it. So stop it now!" Darkkit snickered.

"You're no better, Darkkit!" Goldkit spat, while Darkkit looked at her, clearly offended. "You sit here, nagging Graykit! You were the one who decided to come along!" Before Goldkit could launch herself at them, she spun around and stalked into camp. She was sick of them! Cats' gazes burned her pelt, but she ignored them. She went straight into the nursery and threw herself into the moss bedding. Dawnflower looked at her, but kept silent. Graykit and Darkkit crept into the nursery, and Goldkit had her back to them. Why did they have to be so stupid at times? Goldkit was restless. She couldn't get a wink of sleep. So she just sat there, thinking about what she has done. She finally fell into a restless sleep.

Goldkit began to dream. She was in the same place where she met her father! She looked around, but couldn't find him.

"Looking for me?" Hawkstripe's deep mew scared Goldkit.

"Y-yes..." Goldkit meowed softly.

"I saw the quarrel with Graykit and Darkkit." Hawkstripe sighed. "Do you need someone to talk to?" Goldkit sat there for a moment, not wanting to talk about anything. But then, she started rambling about everything that happened.

"I've just had it with their fighting!" Goldkit concluded. "I hate holding grudges but until they stop fighting, I'll be mad at them!"

"It's natural for kits to quarrel." Hawkstripe assured. "They'll mature. Don't worry. Don't be too mad, their really upset that you got ticked off and everything..."

"I'm just... I don't even know anymore..." Goldkit sighed. She was kind of confused. She didn't know how she felt anymore.

"You're just upset that you got in trouble, that's all." Hawkstripe licked her head. "Now, go apologize to them ok? I love you."

Goldkit woke up. She looked around, the dapple lighting in the nursery told her that it was almost sunrise. She got up and stretched. Goldkit looked over at Graykit's spot, which was empty. No one was in the nursery! She rushed out of the nursery, but ran right into Darkkit.

"Ack!" Darkkit hissed. "Watch- oh... sorry Goldkit..." She moved out of the way, looking down. She was really upset! Guilt slapped Goldkit in the face.

"Darkkit..." Goldkit mewed. "I'm sorry... I was just upset that we got in trouble. Can you forgive me?"

Darkkit was silent for a few heartbeats. "Yeah, I forgive you, furball!" She giggled. "I was, too! Wow, I'm stupid! Instead of Darkkit, I should be Blamekit!" She was joking, of course. Goldkit laughed with her.

"No! I should be Grudgekit!" Goldkit mewed while laughing. Graykit just looked at her, and walked away. "Graykit wait!"

"What do you want?" Graykit spat. "Apparently, I keep getting you in trouble, so why would you want to talk to me?" Graykit looked hurt, but he spun around and stalked toward the elder's den. Goldkit wasn't going to let him off so easily! She tackled Graykit playfully. Graykit yelped in surprise. Goldkit play-fighted, but Graykit raked his claws along Goldkit's side.

"Ow!" Goldkit screeched. The pain burned her skin.

"Don't do that! You scared me!" Graykit hissed.

"Can't you two stay out of trouble?" Frostpelt padded out of her den. "Who scratched you up like that, Goldkit?" Goldkit didn't want to get Graykit in trouble. She nervously looked at Graykit. "You're in enough trouble all ready. I'll make up an excuse." Graykit blinked thankfully. Frostpelt was the kind of cat who let others off of the hook easily. Goldkit padded into the medicine cat's den so  Frostpelt could check out the scratches. Graykit was furious with her! Would she ever get her brother to forgive her?
