Y/n and Baji took their stances on opposite sides of the mat. Sensei gave the signal, and Baji raced forward.

His arm shot up as his fingers curled into a fist. You raised an arm to block, the other moving to counter.

Your eyes widened as his fist connected with your arm. Such power! Gritting your teeth, you move your arm to match his punch. Spinning clockwise, you kicked his side instead. "Gah!"

You jumped back as he stumbled, an arm clutching his side. He smirked. "You're pretty good."

He came at you again, fist raised. Again? Your eyes trailed over his body, analyzing. No, he's going for an uppercut. Your head moved back as he hit through the air. You kicked him in the stomach.

Your eyes flashed in surprise. Baji's hand blocked the hit. He grinned as he grabbed your leg and pushed you back. Your eyes widened when you realized what he was doing. At the same time, Sensei shouted, "Baji, don't!"

His eyes widened, but it was too late. Your back hit the mat as he fell over you, crushing the air out of your lungs.

But the pain that coursed through you was unimaginable. It felt like a bolt of lightning shooting through your body, pain following in its wake. A strangled scream cut through the air. Instinct took over as you grabbed his wrist. Twisting, you brought his arm behind his back, stretching it as you pushed his head into the mat.

"Gah! Dammit, I give." He glared under your hand, but his words fell on deaf ears. "H-hey!"

"Y/N, snap out of it!"

You panted, still over Baji, your eyes stark white from the pain, your body trembling. You could still feel it, and it clouded your senses. Sensei stood up when you didn't move. Racing forward, he hit the back of your head with the stick.

Your body relaxed, Baji freeing his arm. You slumped against his back, unconscious. Baji rose into a sitting position. He shifted so that you were resting against his chest.

"What the fuck was that?" He got wacked by the wooden stick. "Language, boy." He groaned, rubbing his head. Sensei sighed as he glanced down at you. "Her instincts must've taken over, and that's usually not a good thing."

"Instincts? She tried to break my arm!" He kneeled before Baji. "As I said, instinct. They were drilled into her at a young age by her mother."

"That's one hell of a bitch, then." He was wacked again. Grunting, he rose to his feet, the wooden sword used for balance. "She should be waking up by now."

Baji scoffed, "Yeah, right. A hit like that will keep, even me, down for a couple of hours."

"Well, it's a good thing I'm not you," Y/n groaned as she sat up.

He stared dumbfounded as you rubbed the back of your head. "Did you have to hit that hard, Sensei?" He merely shrugged, and you frowned at his back.

"You can get off now," Baji said, coming to his senses. "Ah, right. Sorry about that." You stood and offered a hand. Baji blinked at it and chuckled as he clasped your hand. "You're a pretty good fighter. I'll give you that." You hoisted him to his feet.

"Don't go lessening yourself either. Those punches packed some crazy power."

"Who said I was? I can beat anyone's ass, any day," Baji boasted, his thumb pointing at his chest.

"Yeah, but I still handed your ass to you." His smile dropped as he glared. You gave him a smug smile as a vein bulged. And now he's mad.

A wooden sword wacked you both in the head. "That's enough from you two. Get out!" You both raced for the changing rooms as he continued shouting.
