My eyes opened instantly, thirst waking me up. My eyes went to my bedside table to check for a water bottle, and to my disappointment, there was none. The clock shone 1:38 am, the small bulb inside the mirror brightening the numbers for me. I laid back down to put myself to sleep, but my system needed cool water urgently so I had no choice but to get up.

Letting out a big yawn, I looked out through the window at the night sky. It was dark outside, the moon shining brightly overhead and forming shadows all over the room while hundreds of stars glittered like shiny diamonds over the night.

I peeled off the duvet covering me and stood up barefoot. The cold floor under my feet made me shiver a bit, making me put my slippers quickly. I let out another yawn as I moved lazily across the room and walked towards the door.

I stepped out into the hallway and closed the door behind me quietly, however, the stubborn door still made a slight creek sound, echoing in the empty hallway. The lights were still on, making it easy to walk through the huge corridors. The cool chilly air hit me and I pulled the cardigan I was wearing closer to me as I made my way towards the kitchen.

I hope nobody is awake.

My mind wandered off towards the memory of the time Sebastian had gotten scared of me last time I had been in the kitchen at this time of the night. It was still clear as day when I had first met my extended family through the courtesy of Sebastian, and how he had gotten scared. It was actually so funny. I smiled remembering that. He had acted like an idiot. I never knew I was gonna end up meeting the whole family that night. It was actually overwhelming.

I always had a doubt of not being liked by any of them or being casted as an outsider because I had been absent from their lives. This doubt gnawed at me all the time. The sole reason that made me delay meeting my family.

I was scared.

But the way they all were so happy and relieved to have me back well and alive, had me feel just so happy. I was glad they didn't do what I had always thought. They made me feel loved. They accepted me and cared for me.

I was just so vulnerable when papa had died. Those times after his death were miserable for me. But I was glad to have gotten more people like him to love me. For which I would always be grateful.

The three months I had been with them made me feel like the luckiest girl on the planet.

Smiling to myself I shook my head of the thoughts and entered the kitchen.

Another yawn escaped my mouth reminding me how tired I was, when in truth I had done nothing but eat and laze around all the time, so this tiredness was unexpected.

I took out a glass from one of the cabinets and a water bottle from the fridge. I opened the bottle lid and poured the cool water in the glass to drink.

Christmas was in two days as well. I was very excited for it. I loved Christmas. I actually loved the festive vibes it carried. Gifting each other, decorating, setting up a tree and having snacks and especially hot chocolate, that was what I was looking forward to.

I gulped down the water, calming my thirst and rinsed the glass to put it back. I then picked up the water bottle to put it back in the fridge. As I turned around, I was met with an unexpected site which made me jolt like a bolt had hit me. A very shirtless figure with a muscular body was standing at the entrance of the kitchen, the person whose thoughts had been occupying my mind lately and had ruined my peace of mind.

Viktor walked into the kitchen bare chest.. Repeat after me.. BARE CHEST!!

The muscles on his arms clenched in a luscious way when he moved and his abs put me in a frenzy at the hardness just by looking at it. I felt drool near the corner of my mouth and wiped it quickly. I couldn't help but also sneak a glance at his V-line which was visible very clearly because of his trousers hanging low.
