Brushing the wet hair from the brunettes forehead, Aurelia sat with her chin hooked on the edge of Stiles' tub. He was being off with her. And she hated it. Part of her wanted to put it down to what happened the day before. Maybe the fear of her dying panicked him more than she had suspected. Or maybe it was the worry for his dad and Melissa.
Lia couldn't be sure.
But it almost felt like he was struggling to look at her.
Lia sat, simply examining his face. The delicate bridge of his nose, to his strong jawline that levelled easy with the water. Lips slighly tinted blue, she ran her fingers over them and missed the feeling of them on her. Loving, caring, sweet.
Isaac moved over to his little sister and gently took her by the crook of her elbows and moved her over to the side of the room. He'd been watching her sitting there, it had almost been an hour of her just watching him. Isaac could swear he could hear her heart breaking.
He couldn't watch it any longer.
Eyes flying open, Allison gripped the edge of the tub and shot up from the water. Ice splashed up over the sides of the metallic tub. Next followed Scott and Stiles, both gasping for air, their bodies reddened and tight from the temperature they were submerged within.
Lia's jumped from her position against Isaac as Lydia and Deaton ran in from the reception.
"I saw it. I know where it is." Scott shouted, accepting the towel that was being wrapped around him.
"We passed it. There's a stump. This huge tree— well, it's not huge anymore, it was cut down—but it's still big, though! Very big!" Stiles continued, staring at Lia as she pulled a towel around his shoulders and wiped the water from his face. She much preferred him like this.
Scott nodded furiously. "It was the night we were looking for the body—"
"—yeah, the same night you were bitten and you turned by Peter." Stiles finished, looking to Lydia and then to Aurelia.
Allison, whilst being warmed up by Lydia who quickly ran her hands up and down her arms. "I was there, too, in the car with my mother. We almost hit someone." She spoke, playing through what she had seen in her mind.
"It was me— you almost hit me." Scott stuttered, stunned.
The pair shared a look and although it was silent, it spoke volumes.
"We can find it." Scott grinned, looking around the room. Only to be met by concerned and quiet faces. "Lia? What?"
When Aurelia couldn't bring herself to answer, Isaac stepped forward and took place beside her. "You guys were out a long time."
"How long is a long time?"
"Sixteen hours." Lia admitted, her eyes locked tightly with Scott's. Any hops flickered behind his eyes, replaced with fear and dread.
"We've been in the water for sixteen hours?" Scott yelled, beginning to pace like he typically did when the stress became too much.
Deaton, trying to keep the group together and focused, stepped forward towards the pacing wolf. "And the full moon rises in less than four."
