Adrian and I took turns driving back to court. when we final arrived adrian started to unpack the car but was disrupted by all the noise coming from inside the walls. "what is that?" adrian asked but i was already running to find out. there were no dhampirs guarding the walls and entrance so i knew whatever was going on must be pretty bad.

i stopped when i saw Lissa , tears streaming down her face and christen holding her. i guess they got back together since i was gone. i wish she would have told me that but then again i didnt tell her about her half sister , or why i was really leaving court but anyway i ran up to Lissa's side. "what happened?" i asked christen sternly but Lissa was the one who answered "the queen is - is " she was choking on sobs "dead!". "w-w-what?" adrian mumbled. i had completely forgot about Adrian in all this craziness i had only thought about Lissa our bond was screaming to me that she was sad and possibly in danger because as i know now theres a killer on the lose but now i had to worry about Adrian also. his green eyes began to swim with tears. i had forgotten , the queen was his aunt and he was her favroite nephew they had a family bond that was meaningful to him. "adrian- it will be okay" i said to him as we embraced he began to sob into my shoulder and i kissed his cheek he picked his head up and sniffled "im going to see my parents." he said and turned away. "where are all the dhampirs?" i asked christen.

"there looking for Dimitri"

"why would they be looking for him?" and then it felt like something clicked into place in my brain , if Dimitri isn't here , and if there searching for him then - then .... Dimitri killed the queen !

"no" i screamed before he could tell me , i understood what this meant , Dimitri will be killed. i knew i should be over him and i truly felt i was but now hearing that he will die i started to remember all our great times together but i suppressed my tears , i had to be strong. "how could he have killed her when she has so many guards and he had two guards of his own ? " "he killed all of them , murdered every last one." i then let my tears stream down my face and Lissa took my hand "its okay rose you can cry for the queen?" but i wasnt crying for that bitch i was crying for my lost love , i loved him still but i loved adrian more. "did you hear?" sasha ozera said to us "they caught Dimka and he's now in the jail cells." i felt like i was being stabbed , is it wrong that i wished he would have been able to escape? i then looked Sasha in the eyes, i could see that behind her sad expression she was smiling , i don't know why but i could sense that Sasha was up to no good. "I'm going to find Adrian, he needs me." i said coldly. but really i was going to see Dimitri , to say my last goodbyes , because now he is really gone forever.
