"So what happened then?" Noor asks with a grin.

We were currently in the process of making the baby's cot.

Which was becoming an impossible task.

"Nothing, really but he was saying how I shouldn't let people's opinions get to me." I reply, shrugging.

"Damn, Haadi's made it clear then." She responds with an impressed nod.

"Made what clear?" I ask, confused.

"Babes it's obvious the man's down bad for you." Noor says with a laugh.

He's what?!

"Noor, you're overanalysing the situation, he could never- us, just no." I reply, shaking my head as I get up from the floor.

"And why wouldn't he like a beautiful, amazing woman like you?" She asks, putting a hand on my shoulder to stop me from running away from yet another conversation.

"An amazing woman who's divorced with a baby on the way and practically had to live off her best friends parents? That amazing woman?" I ask, sarcastically.

"Oh please, everyone knows what happened wasn't your fault and besides why should anyone judge a divorcee? Aren't you guys human too?" Noor says with a determined expression.

"Others may be but I'm 'not as innocent as I may be.' I reply, putting quotations in the air with my fingers.

"What? Who the hell said that?" She asks with her brows knitted together.

"Uh- just forget i said anything." I respond, waving my hand off as the doorbell rings.

Huh?

"Who is that?" I ask, confused.

"Well we weren't getting anywhere making the cot so I thought I'd call my mechanic brother to help." Noor replies with a smile.

Oh lord, I didn't want any help from anyone in this.

"But-" I say but she cuts me off.

"No buts, we'll be in the other room while he makes it. And you need to tell me who said that to you!" She calls out as she answers the door while I go to my new bedroom to put my niqab on.

The house wasn't near ready for moving in but in the past few days I had a lot coming in like, my bed, sofa, fridge and other things.

She sure as hell knew that she would be not be getting any more info from me but it was funny of her to think that she was.

"Salam, sis." I hear Samir say from the front door as I hear another man's voice.

"Asalamulaikum." Haadi says.

Oh my Allah, of course he would be here. Of course.

It's like I can never escape the guy.

Adjusting my sleeves as I check half niqab is in place, I open the door to leave the room.

As I passed the bathroom for my baby girls room, I see Samir, Noor, Hala and Haadi all inside.

They all stop talking at once as they see I've come inside.

"Neha, the apartment is so freaking adorable!" Hala squeals with excitement.

"Awhh, I'm glad you like it." I reply as she hugs me.

Samir starts taking apart the wooden parts of the cot that me and Noor already put together.

"Bhaya, what are you doing? We just put that together for you guys!" Noor says with annoyance.
