"Any ideas?" Noor asks me with her 5 month pregnant belly.
"How would she know? She's busy with my babies." Hala says, carrying one of the twins in her arms.
She's gotten into the habit of thinking my babies are hers??
This girl is their aunt but she's fully convinced herself that she's their mother.
If that meant more downtime than I was down.
"How do you not know? Haven't you asked Baba?" I ask Hala, laying in her bed.
"He's been really busy with work lately. I thought it was a new business project but apparently it's not." She replies, shaking her head.
"Well I for one need to know before Khalil asks me one more time, Noor do you think he's going to retire?, of course I don't know that boy! Im busy being pregnant with your son thank you very much!" Noor rambles till her breath is gone while me and Hala side eye eachother.
"Damn." Hala quietly says.
"Okay, umm..." I add before Khalil saves us.
"Baba's home." He says causing me and Hala to nearly rush out the room, leaving Noor sighing behind us.
"Never been happier to hear your voice." Hala says to her brother who was holding Shams in his arms.
"Why? What happened how?" He asks, confused.
"Ask your wife, mate." She replies leaving him gulping.
"My girl." I hear Haadi say as he takes Qamar from Halas arms.
Not the best idea.
"Hey! You have them all day, give my baby back!" She calls out as Haadi hides behind his dad who has a puzzled expression.
"Asalamulaikum Baba, hide us from your daughter please." He asks as his dad shakes his head at me.
Smiling I put my hands up, I cannot help him.
"What happened?" Khalil asks Noor from behind me as we all sit on the sofas.
"You didn't get me that steak, Khalil." She groans, crossing her arms.
"Yallah, you thought I didn't get it for you?" He grins, playing with Shams tiny fingers.
"Well you told me in the- Wait. Did you?" She asks, turning her head towards her husband.
"I guess you'll see at home." He smiles to her.
She smiles back to him with a soft expression, gratitude sprayed all over her face.
"That's Shams right?" Baba asks Haadi as he walks to the armchair across the sofa.
