"Piper wake up. We need to get going!"
I woke up in a startle seeing Zoey hovered over me. I looked at the window on my bedside, noticing that the sun wasn't even shining. I rubbed at my eyes before asking, "What time is it?"
"Five," she said moving off of my bed and hitting the light switch on illuminating the chandelier in the middle of my room.
I let out a groan at her answer, "And why are we up at 5 a.m.?"
"We don't have a lot of time, start getting ready and I'll fill you in," She shuffled to the closet door pulling what I'm guessing is my attire for the day. It looked very much like the stereotypical commoner clothes from the medieval ages. A long, thin dress that looked a bit tattered and more brown than the original green color that it was.
I sighed before hopping out of bed and grabbed it out of her hands.
A week had passed and all I had done was stay in my room left to my own thoughts. Zoey had tried to make small talk here and there, but after everything I was unsure of who I could talk to. She still continued, but it was the first that she told me that I was obligated to get ready.
"We have assigned duties we must complete each day since we are low leveled. Today is Tuesday so we have to wake up earlier to help out in the kitchen. breakfast starts at 7, and classes at 8. We only have typical classes how you would in the every day world, but depending on your strengths they stick you in some not so typical classes."
"Okayyyy, so what's my schedule?" I asked nervously knowing how odd a class full of angels sounded.
Zoey was quiet for a moment," I don't know. They wouldn't tell me for one and usually that only happens when they are sticking the royals in classified classes. They just told me to report you to Lily, she's Joshua's charge and head of the student council committee.
"Great, I met her last week," dread seeping out of my voice. A student council committee? They are treating this an awful like high school or some fancy boarding school.
"Awesome, I can take you to her after we finish prep for the kitchen."
"Awesome," I responded not so enthusiastically.
...
Prep was as boring as it sounded, and by the time Zoey and I finished we only had ten minutes to ourselves to eat before having to hurry to report to Lilly.
Zoey's pace hastened to a complete stop when the hall ended to a wide set of dark oak double doors. "Okay this is her. Good luck. and just remember that she's a level 9 royal so she is heavily guarded, not that I think you are going to do anything, but just thought you should know."
"Yeah, I'm well acquainted with her guard Joshua."
"Oh yeah, the Mr. dark and gloomy. Everyone knows him, he is Eric's third...well anyways, I'm sure I'll see you in one class. They tend to stick all the low levels in the Starting History of Humanity's War." She began to walk away, "See you then!"
"Bye," I whispered more to myself than her. I looked at the large doors and before my palm meet the door they opened.
"Hello, welcome!" Lilly was on the other side of the doors but wasn't touching them.
I looked at the doors confused, walking in before asking, "Is telekinesis your thing?"
She seemed to find my bluntness funny because she let out a laugh, "It's refreshing to have someone that doesn't know much about us, but yes telekinesis is my speciality amongst other things." She nudged me over to a set of chairs in front of a large, wooden desk. "Come, we don't have a lot of time before classes start and I need to explain to you the rules and the way things work."
