"Hey you left me on read yesterday. I'm sort of hurt Piper, I thought you cared about me," I couldn't help but to roll my eyes at my friend's theatrics. He played the part of the drama queen very well.
"I got busy." I kept my attention focused on squirming around the crowd of students we were currently passing. Nathan had a habit of following me to my first class before venturing off. After fainting, I've notice Nathan's closer than normal proximity though.
"It wouldn't happen to do with that hunk of a man that gave you a big swoon, and who I have yet to see, would it?"
"Actually it sort of did," I surprised myself in sharing the information. This whole situation made me feel kind of stupid, since it may all just be in my head, but I would have gone crazy keeping everything to myself.
"Oh?" He asked.
"It sounds crazy but I thought I saw him outside in my front yard yesterday while I was texting you, but he was gone in seconds so I don't know."
"Oh honeyyyy, it seems like either you got a stalker or you were totally day dreaming, and knowing you it was probably the ladder," Nathan let out a chuckle, and I couldn't help but to let out one too.
"Yeah, you're probably right..." I trailed off, as soon as I saw Nathan's attention diverted in the opposite direction.
"Hawty alert, 6 o'clock, although I wouldn't mind seeing him at 2am," Nathan finished off with a wink.
I felt an overwhelming sensation run through my body. I silently was praying to let it be him, but at the same time I was afraid. All this was suppose to be a dream. Fake, not real. However, it seemed like my body knew fully well who Nathan was gazing at.
There he was, in all his glory. He had a smile on his face as he was stuck conversing with a girl that I vaguely knew in high school. I felt a bucket of ice water drop on me as his smile was directed to someone else besides me. Then I felt my jaw clench in anger.
Why is that he could smile so easily with her, but the past two times seeing him, he had nothing but a scowl on his face?
It's as if he sensed me as well. He suddenly jerked his head up, his eyes landing on mine, finding me easily.
We stayed like that for awhile, both of us not wanting to break contact and I was left with a thousand of questions. A mental battle not knowing what to think of this guy that was a clone replica of my guardian angel. I was telling myself that maybe I passed him at some point in my life and had dreamt of him. After all, they say you can't dream of anyone you haven't seen before. However, the way his gazed lured told me that was anything but the case.
My heart was thundering, and I began feeling dizzy.
"Hey girl you better not faint again, I see you getting pale." Nathan stepped into my view, breaking my eye contact with him.
I gave Nathan my best attempt of a smile, but it came out weak and shaky. "I'm good," I said, taking a step back. My steps faltered and I could feel myself trip a bit, but before my body even had the chance of falling, I felt a strong, yet so familiar hand on the small of my back.
I quickly jumped forward, turning as I took him in.
He brought his hand to his jean pocket, giving me a blank expression as he peered into my eyes, giving me goosebumps.
"You need to be careful."
I jumped at his voice. I wasn't expecting him to talk, and of course his voice had to be perfect as well. A a deep, calming allure. I felt as if he could take all my worries away with just hearing it.
