"Mom , I miss you guys Soo much.."

That Saturday morning I had been video calling my mom and sister through the iPhone 11 that Neo bought for me.

I told her not to bother but she kept insisting, saying she wanted to send me funny memes everyday and so I could keep in touch with my family.
She'd been constantly spoiling me the whole week.

"My dear , we miss you too oo.." my mom replied.

She started coughing uncontrollably.

"Mummy...are you okay, that cough doesn't sound normal oo."

"I'm fine ..I'm fine..it's just a small cough I've been having for the past few days."

"Mummy! And you didn't tell me...Fatima check her temperature."

I watched as my sister placed her palm on my mother's forehead.

"She's hot oo...very hot...I told her she needs a doctor but she doesn't want to."

"How come, mummy you need to go see a doctor today please! Fatima , abeg take her to the hospital now."

"Okay let me get my shoes.."

"Mum , go put on a jacket..Fatima will take you to the hospital now. I promise you'll be better."

"No...I don't want a hospital...I don't like hospitals oko mi you know."

"Fatima! Hurry up and take her now, once you return call me immediately to update me on what the doctor says."

"Yes sister, bye"

"Watch the road oo!" I said ending the call.

My mother being Ill was the last thing I needed on my plate.

"Wassup why do you look down?" Neo asked as she walked into the room.

"Its mum...she's Ill."

"What..noo...that's not good bro..Fatima should take her to a doctor ASAP."

"They've gone already ..let's hope we get good feedback."

Neo opened her bag taking out bags of Molly.

"Brooooo , again? Who'd you buy these from?"

"That boy from Class , what's his name again.....Mpho!"

"Mhmm Mpho is making money then. I didn't know he sells too."

She opened the bags one by one sniffing them playfully,
"Mhmmm smell of happiness."

"Like I always say friend , you don't need-"

"I know what you're about to say, 'YOU DON'T NEED THESE TO BE HAPPY!' " She said mimicking me in a funny voice.

"OH SO I SOUND LIKE THAT! " I said throwing her with a pillow then walking out of the room to use the restroom.

As I flushed the toilet and washed my hands, the door opened.

IT WAS NEO'S FATHER!

I'd barely seen her father around...that's because he's barely around , so I'm only fond of her mother.

"Ahh pardon me, you must be Neo's beloved friend... I've heard quite a lot about you."
