"Is it done?"
...."Yes,"I lied.
"Good. I've sent you R2 million, get out of the country and don't come back."
I couldn't believe he used me and disposed of me like some plastic.
This man cost me my life.I couldn't let him find out that I didn't abort the baby and decided to keep it because knowing the kind of man he is and his connections he might try to hurt me.
"When you return from school, pack your bags we're leaving." I said fo Fatima.
"What...but-"
"If you disobey you will hate the side of me that you will see. I'll be out sorting out a few things by the time I get back I better find you packed and ready to go."
She let out an angry sigh and stormed out of the room.
The best thing for us was to just go back Nigeria...even if it wasn't forever, at least till I give birth.
Not long after Fatima left, Neo walked in.
"FRIEND I DID IT! I PASSED THE SEMESTER."
Right...I already knew I failed so I didn't bother collecting my results.
"I'm happy for you my love."
I was genuinely happy for her....happy that I was able to impact her in a positive way..all the study nights really paid off.
"Let me take a shower " I said walking into the bathroom.
I opened the water to run as we both spoke over the sound of the water splashing.
"Honestly, my parents should just give me my space now- oh shit my ring."
She knelt down to pick up her ring which rolled underneath my bed.
"Yeah so as I was say-"
..."Mhmm,friend as you were saying?.." I asked.
"Neo are you there?"
The room suddenly went quiet.I stepped out of the shower wrapping a towel around myself.
I walked out to notice her on her knees holding the 2 pregnancy tests I hid under the bed.
"Why didn't you tell me."
"I-...uh....friend I can explain."
"So explain please."
She stood up sitting on my bed and I sat next to her.
"I was as shocked myself..."
"How many months is it?"
"Ah months? Its 8 weeks."
"Who is the father?"
She kept such a straight face making me scared.
"Neo..."
"WHO IS THE FATHER!" she yelled.
I obviously couldn't tell her I fucked her Dad.
"Okay... it's..It's your brother." I lied.
Might as well tell her the truth but not the whole truth.
"I knew it. I saw the way he looked at you at the dinner."
She didn't even do the math. Her brother only arrived 4 weeks ago, but I said I was 8 weeks pregnant.
Benefits of having a friend's that's not so good in maths."So that means you and him are together?.."
"Yeah.. look I wanted to tell you but-"
"No...no don't explain yourself. Who knows what else you're lying to me about."
