"Miss Adekunle, so this is your story?"

"Yes your honour. Nothing but the truth."

"OBJECTION YOUR HONOUR, THE DEFENDANT HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE ANY TANGIBLE EVIDENCE AGAINST MY CLIENT",MR Khumalo's lawyer said.

His points throughout were really good.
You can just tell he hired one of the best.

It was true...we had no evidence against him.
After we left, I had cleared my phone of any evidence leading me back to Matthews incident.

"Final decisions will be made on Thursday at 10:30a.m, until then Mr Khumalo will be kept in a holding cell. Court adjourned!"

"Don't loose hope....we could win this." My lawyer said.

I had completely lost hope.
If I don't return with evidence on Thursday charges will be dropped and he will be found innocent.
I could not let that happen.

As they escorted Mr K back to his cell he gave me a dangerous look.

"You look tired, let's go get some food before you pass out." Chris said bringing me back to my senses.

We drove to the Italian restaurant we came to on our first date.

"I can't believe you brought me here."

"This place holds our memories...so why not."

This time the restaurant was officially open and people were inside eating.

We ordered the sane things we had that night. Except for the Alcoholic wine because I couldn't drink alcohol pregnant.

I rushed my food because I had been starving.
Being pregnant really fucks with your appetite.

"What's your plan Ade....like after giving birth." He asked.

"I just want to go far away...far away from here. FOR GOOD."

"Then come with me..."

"What?" I said choking on my water

"Come with me, you, Tima and the baby. I'll be traveling back to the U.S to graduate and permanently stay there. If there's someone I imagine spending my life there with... it's definitely you."

"But-..."

"Just say yes."

"First let me ask you this Chris....where do we stand. Do you still love me?"

"I never stopped loving you, I never have and I never will."

I took a while to think about it.

"Sure...I think it's a great idea!"

"Great! That way we can raise the baby together....speaking of the baby, I don't like referring to it as 'the baby' so what are you naming the her.....or him." He said causing me to laugh.

"I've always wanted to name my first girl, Destiny and my first boy, Jamal."

"So you don't know the gender yet?"

"No...I prefer to wait till birth."

"Right....and I'll be there right besides yo-"

My phone rang interrupting our conversation.
It was a private number.

"God this private number again..just a minute."

I stood up to answer the call by the bathroom door.

"Hello?"

"You have failed to listen...again! You really think you can win this case? Well I'll show you the consequences of fighting with the wrong people."

"Who is this!"

"You should really check on your sister."

"Fatima...SHIT!"
Just as I ended the call, another call came in from Fatima school.

"HI IS THIS MISS ADEKUNLE, SISTER TO FATIMA ADEKUNLE?"

"THIS IS SHE.."

"FATIMA WAS SHOT JUST OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL GROUNDS, SHE WAS RUSHED TO JOHNSON'S HOSPITAL NEAR THE SCHOOL."

I didn't realize when I had lost grip of my phone and it fell from my hand to the ground.
My heart had just stopped beating.

I ran back to the table.

"We have to go NOW! FATIMA'S SCHOOL CALLED SHE WAS JUST SHOT!"

"SHIT!" He exclaimed as he dropped the money for the food on the table and ran out to start the car.

As we ran into the hospital I could barely feel my heart the more.

"WHERE IS SHE!!" I yelled at the receptionist.

"WHO MA'AM, NAME AND SURNAME PLEASE!"

"FATIMA ADEKUNLE! A STUDENT FROM QUEENS HIGH SHE WAS SHOT!"

"RIGHT THE DOCTOR WILL BE WITH YOUR JUST NOW."

"ARE YOU MAD! I SAID WHERE IS MY SIS-"
I felt the painfulness in my belly again.
The same one I felt after seeing Neo's dead body.

"ADE SIT! PLEASE JUST SIT." Chris said forcing me to sit.

I kept looking around hoping to see my sister come out walking , fine and healthy.

"This is all my fault..it's all my fault."

"Adeola stop! Just breathe."

We waited 15 min before the doctor came out to us.

"Can I see her please!"

"I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what abeg Mr doctor can I see my baby sister!"

"I'm sorry. She's gone."

I fell to my knees and passed out.
