When It's all over

Reunion

"What's his name! Where does he school?"
Neo asked bombarding me with questions.

"Bro I said you don't know him relax. You'll meet him soon."
She was excited to know that I met a boy.
Not knowing it was her brother.

"Miss Adekunle, Head Teacher wants to see you." The secretary lady said.

"Okay I'll make sure to see her later today."

"NOW!" she exclaimed.

I looked to Neo, curious about what it could be about.

Could it be that she found out I slept with her husband!

I knocked on Mrs Khumalo's door opening it."
I saw the school board officials all seated in her office.

I immediately knew what was happening.
MY GRADES.

"Miss Adekunle sit."
I sat on the chair facing them all.

"I'm sure you know why you've been summoned. You've failed 3 of your courses not even one. The agreement was if 1 was to be failed but you surprised us by failing 3 therefore, without much being said we
hereby eliminate your scholarship, meaning you are to pay normal fees as your peers."

"PLEASE! I-"

"Miss Adekunle you may leave. It is not a discussion we have reached an agreement. Good day."

Great.
Now I was definitely FUCKED.
The one thing I promised mom, I failed.
I promised her I wouldn't loose this opportunity, yet I did."

"Friend...."
Neo had been seated in the reception waiting for me.

"Is it what I think it is?"

"Yeah " I said running to cry into her arms.

"It's not the end I promise you. You'll be okay."

With Fatima here I wouldn't even be able to keep up with my studies or paying both our fees.
Which meant I'd have to drop out.

My phone started vibrating.
I looked to see who had been calling.
If was Fatima.

"SHIT! I'M SUPPOSED TO BE AT THE AIRPORT." I said running.

"Friend wait! My driver will take you."

"Okay thanks!"

She called her driver to pick me up.
When we arrived I immediately saw my tall light-skinned little sister standing by the entrance. We both got our height from our father.

My heart began to melt when I saw her.

I ran out of the car , running to embrace her.

"Sis!" She yelled tears also falling from her eyes.

Finally having family with me brought some relief.

"You're safe now I promise. And WELCOME TO SOUTH AFRICA!"

We both giggled hugging each other once more before we entered the car.

"Sis , who's nice car is this?" She whispered into my ear.

"It's Neo's. I can't wait till you meet her!"

As we drove through the city, she looked outside the window amused by every little feature.

Finally we arrived at my dorm.
She settled in and took a shower right after we ate the Takeaway food I ordered.

We lay in my bed, talking.

"Ah so this is what you've been enjoying ehn?" She said causing me to giggle.

If only she knew...

"So sis ..what job are you doing now?"

"I'm a cleaner and bartender at a club" I lied.

"Oh...that's good."

I was feeling sceptical about bringing up mom...or asking her how she was coping with the whole thing.
I didn't want to ruin her happy mood.

We watched Neo's favourite series, Umbrella Academy.
It was not long till she finally fell asleep.

That was when I realized that I'd have to work more shifts and maybe get a double job just to pay all my bills.
