In an alternate Edo-verse,
there was a rundown apartment where an eccentric lady, Kagura,
and her large pet, Sadaharu resided.

Kagura's grades at school had always been below average. Her teachers often hinted at the idea of her becoming an actress since she was so easily swayed by her feelings and often appeared with overdramatic excuses for her late assignments. Whether it was out of sarcasm or genuine advice, she could never tell.
With only a high school diploma on her resume, she found herself bouncing in between minimum wage jobs from a deli store clerk all the way to a waitress in order to pay her rent and other necessary living expenses such as her dog's food, her food, her food and did I forget to mention, her food?
Her last job lasted for 3 hours only –- the shortest record she has as of late. Extremely unhappy, stressed and unsuccessful at keeping her jobs, she decides to follow through with her homeroom teacher's comment and pursue an acting career two years after graduation.
She had nothing else to lose. If things didn't work out, she would just end up back at square one, faking smiles as a slave of customer service. It was better than ending up like the neighborhood's infamous hobo, Madao, of course.
