Uncanny Counter (Season 2)

Chapter 8

I yelled 'So Mun.'  

I couldn't move anymore, my body didn't want to move. My eyes were fixed on So Mun's body which was lying on the ground. I couldn't hear anything. I felt numb and I felt someone burning inside me at the same time. I could hear Mae-Ok calling my name. I could hear everyone calling my name but I couldn't move. Then I heard Mo-Tak yell 'Sua, protect So Mun.' I immediately pulled myself together and went towards So Mun. Gelly looked at me yelling 'We all are going to die here.' Luckily Hana Unni came and fought with Gelly. I tried to pick up So Mun, and soon after Jeok-Bong Oppa came to help me. Ma Ju-Seok came and choked me and Oppa. I said 'How can you hold me when I don't want to be held.' I then touched his shadow with my feet and I immediately went inside his shadow. I freed Oppa from his hands and said 'Oppa take So Mun, Jang-Mul is coming from the elevator.' I then transferred myself to Pil-Gwang's shadow and freed Mae-Ok and Hana Unnie. I then went inside So Mun's shadow and made his body stand up and run towards his elevator. Jang-Mul had come with a machine gun and created time for everyone to get inside the elevator. Mo-Tak fought off Ma Ju-Seok. I left So Mun's shadow once the elevator door closed. Everyone was shocked at what I had just done. I explained that this was one of my powers. 

In the car, Ms. Chu was trying to heal So Mun. While the others went to the Yung place to talk about So Mun and Wi-Gen, I stayed back to look after So Mun. I was sitting beside So Mun and holding his hand really tightly. Recently I let my jealousy get the best of me and now I felt like I was losing everything. If So Mun didn't wake up; I would go after those evil spirits myself and kill all of them at sight. I held his hand while saying 'So Mun, we are all safe. Please come back. I have so many plans we have to do together after all this is over. I haven't gotten a chance to fight with you yet either. I want you to introduce me to your grandparents as your girlfriend.' I could feel my tears whelming up in my eyes, I just didn't let them escape. I then whispered under my breath 'So Mun, I am going to kill that one-eyed bitch for you.' 

I was awake the whole night watching over So-Mun. At the same time I was talking with Do Min-Joon; I said 'Min-Joon isn't there anything I can do?' Min-Joon replied 'Stay strong and be with So Mun for now Sua. We are trying to find a solution.' I replied 'How can I stay calm Min-Joon, So Mun is lying here like this.' Min-Joon replied 'We are thinking about it Sua.' I yelled 'Well, think outside the box. Consider all possibilities even the odd or rare ones.' I then fell asleep for the rest of the day.     

Mo-Tak woke me up during mealtime. I went outside and sat beside Hana Unnie. Mo-Tak was saying 'These are all his favourites. He'll wake up just to eat these. Ms. Chu yesterday, I asked whether or not there was a way because I was frustrated. You understand right?' Ms. Chu replied 'Make sure to eat well. You're working hard these days.' Mo-Tak replied 'We're all going through a lot, not just me. I should catch Lee Chung-Jae as soon as possible. That way, I won't feel ashamed when Mun wakes up.' Hana Unnie asked 'Lee Chung-Jae's men won't talk right?' Mo-Tak nodded at her words then Mae-Ok asked 'Did you find Jae-Youl?' Mo-Tak replied 'I thought he was testifying against them but he just vanished. Ma Ju-Seok appeared on CCTV near Jae-Youl's house. That means he used Jae-Youl to find Lee Chung-Jae. But I have no idea where he is.'

Later in the day, Ms. Chu told us she fought out about Lee Chung-Jae's location. We were having a meeting about it and Ms. Chu said 'If we lose Lee Chung-Jae, we'll never be able to catch him. Then, we can't predict how Ma Ju-Seok will react.' Hana Unnie said 'If all goes well, we'll catch Lee Chung-Jae, retrieve the 120 billion won, and even summon Gelly.' I had my head down the entire time but then when I heard Gelly's name, I looked up towards Hana Unnie. Jeok-Bong Oppa then said 'But like the Yung people said, we shouldn't be so rash when Mun is still unconscious. Or else, we might...' Jang-Mul agreed with Oppa saying 'I agree with him. I think it's best to lie low for now. Plus, how can we believe Jae-Youl? He could have said anything just to flee.' Mo-Tak said 'I can do it. That's what Mun always said. We can do it.' I decided to speak saying 'I agree, We need to show So Mun that he doesn't need to protect us and that we can also protect him.'
