The next day, Fionnuala caught a ride to school with Scott and Stiles.

"There's gotta be some other way to get tickets, right?" Stiles asked, as he parked the jeep and they all got out. "It's a secret show. There's only one way, and it's a secret."

"Hey!" Matt called as they began walking down the sidewalk. The three turned around to face him. "Either of you know why no one's getting suspended after what happened the other day at school?"

Fionnuala looked at the three boys, confused.

"Just forget about it. Nobody got hurt," Stiles commented, brushing it off.

"I had a concussion."

"Well, nobody got seriously hurt."

"I was in the ER. For six hours."

"Hey, do you want to know the truth, Matt? Your little bump on the head is about this high on our list of problems right now!" Stiles answered, placing his hand a few inches above the sidewalk, making Fionnuala cover her mouth in an attempt not to laugh.

Scott sighed. "Are you okay?" he asked Matt.

"Yeah, I'm fine now. So you didn't get any tickets last night either."

"Are they still selling?"

"Uh, no, but I managed to find two online. You should keep trying. Sounds like everyone's gonna be there." With that, he turned and walked away.

"I don't like him," Stiles stated, watching him. "Hey, are you sure about this?" he told Scott.

"Last time whoever is controlling Jackson had to kill somebody because he didn't finish the job, so what do you think he's gonna do this time?" Scott answered.

"Be there to make sure it happens," Stiles replied.

Fionnuala was sitting at a table in the school library listening to her music as she worked on some homework when Danny slid into a seat next to her. She paused her music and took an earbud out when she saw him.

"Hey, Danny."

"Hi, Fi."

"I thought there was practice this morning."

"Yeah, it's over. Nobody's seen Jackson lately. Coach isn't too happy about it."

"Hm. Well, if you're wondering if I know where he is, I'm sorry. I don't."

"No, I wasn't. If Stiles hasn't, I doubt you have. I have two tickets to the show tonight and wanted to know if you wanted to go with me. As friends."

"Sure. I don't think I have anything going on tonight. I can double-check, but I should be free."

"Cool. See you there." He got up and left.

Her phone lit up with a notification as she put her earbud back in and resumed her music.

Isaac: Scott and Stiles have tickets to the show tonight.

Derek: Great. Fi, meet up at the vet's after school to go over the plan.

Fionnuala sent a thumbs-up in reply before returning to her homework.

"Ketamine?" Scott asked when he saw the container that his boss was holding up.

"It's the same stuff we use on the dogs, just a higher dosage." He placed the syringe and little bottle in front of Scott and Stiles on the table. "If you can get close enough to Jackson, it should slow him down enough to buy you some time." He held up a little jar of black powder. "This is some of what you'll use to create the barrier. This part is for you, Stiles," he told him. "Only you."

"Uh, that sounds like a lot of pressure. Can we maybe find a slightly less pressure-filled task for me?"

"It's from the mountain ash tree, which is believed by many cultures to protect against the supernatural. This office is lined with ashwood, making it difficult for someone like Scott or Derek to cause me any trouble."

"Okay, so then what? I just spread this around the whole building, and then Jackson or whoever's controlling him can't cross it?"

"They'll be trapped," the vet confirmed.

"Doesn't sound too hard," Scott told him.

"Not all there is. Think of it like gunpowder. It's just powder until a spark ignites it. You need to be that spark, Stiles."

"If you mean light myself on fire, I don't think I'm up for that."

"Let me try a different analogy. I used to golf. I learned that the best golfers never swing before first imagining where they want the ball to go. They see it in their mind, and their mind takes over. It can be pretty extraordinary what the force of your own will can accomplish."

"Force of will," Stiles muttered.

"If this is going to work, Stiles, you have to believe it."

"Okay. But why can't Fi help me?"

"Oh, I meant to tell you, Derek, I was invited to the show tonight by a friend. So I can't help you, Stiles."

"Who invited you?" her boyfriend asked.

"Danny. Just as friends."

"I don't have a problem with it."

"Alright. Since we seem to have covered all the bases, we're all done here," the vet announced.

Everyone else nodded and began to leave.

"Actually, Fion. Do you mind staying behind? I need to talk to you about something."

The 16-year-old looked confused but nodded.

"I'll catch up with you," she told Derek, giving him a quick kiss. "You guys can head out."

"I'll make sure Scott doesn't listen in," he whispered in her ear.

The three guys left, leaving Fionnuala and Dr. Deaton alone.

"What is it?" she asked.

"You're a werewolf, aren't you?" the vet asked her quietly.

"How can you tell?"

He smiled. "Why wouldn't Derek turn his girlfriend? He loves you."

"Well, he double-checked with me before doing it."

"Right. You were chronically ill, weren't you?"

"Yeah, I was."

"But Stiles and Scott don't know?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Scott doesn't like Derek, and he doesn't like that we're an item. So he'd hate it if he found out Derek turned me."

"What about Stiles?"

"He tells Scott everything. If I told him I was a werewolf, he'd tell Scott. Thank you for not announcing it earlier."

"No problem. Enjoy your time with your friend tonight."

She nodded and left.
