At the end of the chapter is gonna be a question, pertaining to the first book. I'm gonna request you do your best to not cheat. We're gonna start easy and go from there. Let's see how well you've been paying attention.

Fionnuala smiled as she walked out of the bathroom in Derek's t-shirt and gave a little spin. "How do I look?" she asked.

"Gorgeous. As always."

He checked the time and sat up in a panic. "Shit. You're late to your group study!"

"Nah, it's okay." The 16-year-old shrugged. "I told Lydia I'm not comfortable  being a part of their study group anymore and that it wasn't her."

"It's Allison, isn't it?"

"Yeah. I mean, no offense, but after your aunt shot my boyfriend, I don't think you deserve my trust. So I told my dad I found a different study group. Just me."

"So shouldn't you be studying at home?"

"Do you not want me here?"

"No, I do. I just don't want you to get in trouble with your dad."

"I told him I would be studying somewhere else before going home."

"And?"

"I used my free period today to do most of my homework." She pulled her books out and sat back down on his bed. "I only have a couple more subjects to finish."

"Awesome. Do that and I will find us some stuff to snack on."

"Make sure it's not too much or too filling," she called after him as he left. "I still need to eat dinner when I get home!"

"Oh, by the way. We got more recruits. And Scott's not thrilled."

"I imagine not. He hasn't been happy with you at all. Who are the new recruits?"

"Isaac, Erica and Boyd. Isaac and Erica fought Scott last week at the ice rink. Then he and I fought. Who do you think won?"

"You, of course. You're the Alpha."

"Being an Alpha doesn't really have anything to do with it. Betas and Omegas are able to kill Alphas."

"But you beat him because you top him in experience."

"You can kill an Alpha without having much experience. Here's the thing. An Alpha is stronger when he has a pack."

"You've multiplied your strength by four." She smiled, as she began her math homework. "And that's how you beat him."

Derek reentered with two plates. One had crackers. The other had cheese.

"You got it."

"Do they know about me?"

"No. That's on the down low." He sat down next to her on the bed. "We have a new creature roaming Beacon Hills though."

"Really?" She put her pencil down. "And what is this new creature?"

"It's called a kanima. I found out when Stiles almost let me drown in the high school pool last week. It got confused by it's own reflection."

"Interesting." She looked over at him. "Do you mind if I finish my math homework before continuing this conversation?"

"Of course." He gave her a kiss, before exiting the room again. "I gotta go clean up in the kitchen anyways."

Fionnuala finished up the last few problems she had before packing her homework up and heading into the kitchen. She smiled when she saw Derek with his back to her and shirtless.

"Hey, hot stuff," she said, standing on her tiptoes and kissing him on the cheek.

"Finished your homework?" he answered.

"Yeah." She gave him a hug from behind. "And I'm gonna need to go home soon."

"I can drop you off at the end of your driveway now," he told her with a smile.

"Yes, but only with a kiss on the hand," she responded.

"You know," he continued, turning around as he dried his hands on a towel, "you caught on really quickly when I was training you."

"I've watched you train," she stated. "It's kinda easy to pick up on."

"Is that another thing you were working on last week when you were recovering?"

"Why, yes, it was."

"I'm beginning to wonder if there is anything I need to teach you."

"There's plenty you're gonna need to teach me, Derek. How about your newest recruits?"

"Their attacks are so predictable," he stated, rolling his eyes. "I could literally fend them off in my sleep. And I'm not even training them to fight."

"What are you training them to do?"

"To survive. That's what they need to focus on. Survival."

"Otherwise, they'll be dead before they know it."

"You. I can teach you how to survive and how to fight at the same time, because you know when to fight and when to survive. Them? All they want to do is fight."

"Which is why you need to teach them."

He nodded, then said, "What about you?"

"I can survive without a couple days of training."

"No. What if you trained them?"

"Derek, I've been a werewolf for a week. I don't think I'd be able to."

"They don't know that though." He smiled. "I can train you to train them. They might be a little more willing to listen to you."

"You said survival?"

"Yeah."

"I'll think about it. But for now, let's get me home in time for dinner."

What was the nickname that Derek used on Fionnuala when he picked her up from school on the first day? First 2 people to answer will get a shout out at the beginning of the next chapter. :)
