This chapter Caroline decided to eat a Snickers bar for breakfast.
"You better shape up, 'cause I need a man, and my heart is set on you!" I sang along as I jammed out for my casual morning routine. Really early this morning, I left from Mason's house to get ready for school. A small part of me was trying my hardest to impress Liam and his mom when they pick me up.
First impressions are always a big deal for me. They signify who you are and what you're meant to be. Why look like a slob who slouches then someone with beauty and a positive outlook on shit?
The right ear bud was snagged out of my ear roughly. Groaning in protest once I noticed that Stiles was holding it away from me, probably annoyed by my singing. "Stop trying to sing, you sound like a dying howler monkey. C'mon, you ready?"
Ignoring his rude criticism, I shook my head. "Since when was it decided that you were going to take me to school?" Unwrapping the top part of the chocolate bar, I held the wrapped part at the bottom so my fingers wouldn't get sticky.
He shrugged carelessly as he raided our fridge for breakfast. "Since you decided to wake up in time for my morning practice."
Liam had text me saying that I would have to wake up earlier to go with him. It was no problem for me, really. I was always a morning person with my mom when she was alive. We always had a routine to do everyday: serve the boys of the household their favorite breakfast. I would always help her lay out the bacon strips, crack an egg for her, and tell her when to stir the eggs. Now it seemed natural for me to wake up at the crack of dawn.
Frowning at my weird older brother as I looked him over, I bit into the caramel goodness. After chewing a couple times, I questioned appalled, "You were serious about doing another season?" He nodded, glaring at the blonde. I held up my hands in mock surrender as I swallowed thickly.
Malia came barreling down the stairs like a train with a bored expression planted on her face. "Hey Stiles' sister." She smiled at me quickly before she headed out the front door with a loud slam.
"Caroline." I mumbled lowly, even though she was already out the door. Malia was always being rude and sometimes a bitch towards me. She clearly didn't know she was like that at times though, so I try to let it slide. Plus Stiles would skin me for being nasty towards his girl.
Stiles sighed as he offered me an apologetic smile. "C'mon, I'll even let you sit up front with me. Even let you have full control of my radio."
Gasping sarcastically, I greedily ate another bite. "What a tempting offer. Really. But I already have a ride." Liam's face flashed in my mind immediately. Stiles' bright aura seemed to fade as he nodded understandingly. Shuffling awkwardly, he snagged the rest of the candy out of my hands.
"Well, uh, see you later, pip-squeak." He nodded as he walked around me. Leaving me standing there, feeling incomplete without the candy bar in resting in my hand.
I waited a bit longer after Stiles left with Malia, worries flooding in my head faster than Coach's temper kicking in. Was my curly hair frizzy? Did even more chocolate crumbs fall down my chest? Quickly checking to make sure no one was around, who knew in the Stilinski house, I sneakily pulled my clothing away from her chest to check. Nothing.
Now pacing by the doorway, I hummed 'You're the One I Want' again. It helped calm down my nerves enough for me to finally take in a large breath. My chest felt numb and constricted as I nervously twiddled my clammy thumbs together. The phone beeped loudly by my side and I yelped in surprise, my lower back colliding into the door knob harshly.
