This chapter makes me wanna punch Liam in the face... then kiss it because dayummm. Right?
I grumbled distastefully as I trudged through the narrow aisle as I sat down near the girl with the raging hair and piercings. Stiles scrambled out of my bed late last night and left early with Malia. Leaving my only option to take the bus as dad had already left to go to work.
Luck just wasn't on my side today. Like at all.
I woke up from my dads usual morning texts to make sure I'm still alive and breathing. He started this around when I started freshmen year, and even though I'm confused as to why he does, I'm happy to know that he loves me enough to ask. But his text was late this morning, so I woke up twenty minutes later than usual.
In the mornings I like to take my time. So without having those twenty minutes I feel like I have no time at all. Like I'll get no where and go to school looking like a dried up fruit bat. So I quickly brushed and hesitantly left my hair it's natural wavy ways. After getting dressed I laid out my makeup for the day.
Rubbing together my pink lip gloss, I made the satisfying pop sound before grabbing my backpack and phone off my vanity. Trudging down the stairs, I hummed Hakuna Matata extra loud since no one would scream at me to shut up.
Now here I am on this stupid bus. I hate the vehicle that's as slow as a turtle and weighs as much as an elephant. In movies the bus is portrayed as a rotting vehicle where losers have to ride. Well that's the only thing movies seem to get right.
Slowly, the bus creaked its way to a stop in front of my school. Standing up, the bus creaked under everyone's footsteps. I quickly jumped out of there without looking back. Glad to not have the gruesome smell of baloni sandwich stuck to me anymore. I quickly checked, nope, just vanilla.
Smiling at the school I flipped my hair behind my shoulder confidently. Scanning over kids ranging from seniors to freshmen, I saw Mason standing idly near the bike racks.
"Hey Mason!" I called out, running towards him in my wedges.
He raised his eyebrows as he saw me running towards him. As I reached him he chuckled. "What a sight to see. Caroline Stilinski riding the bus to school. How was it? Did you survive? Are you Caroline's doppelganger?"
"Hardy-har, so funny! You want to know what's even funnier? I wasn't even listening to you." I joked, poking his nose as I laughed sarcastically. He rolled his chocolate brown eyes at my childish ways.
Looking down at me seriously, he asked, "Have you seen Liam this morning? We usually ride the bus together unless his mom takes him."
Frowning at him, I shrugged, trying to make it seem like I didn't care. "If you haven't noticed I'm not his girlfriend. I don't keep a little calendar about his whereabouts."
"Yet," He winked at me. I rolled my murky eyes and blushed a bit. If only. It was hard to deny the attraction I am feeling towards him. He almost made it impossible not to. But I just needed a while to confirm my feeling before falling straight-on-my-face in love with him. Looking behind me, Mason hit my shoulder with the back of his hand. "Liam?"
Gaining my attention with that simple name, I turned around to see Liam Dunbar sweating and panting as he jogged to us. A little freaked out, I kept my distance but walked up with Mason anyways.
"Where were you, you weren't on the bus." Mason asked, looking concerned for one of his best friends.
"I-uh, I ran here," Liam panted, clutching onto his backpack strap tightly. He looked at us franticly with his big blue eyes, and I could see the sweat dripping down his forehead with his chest heaving up and down. It was hard to not notice.
