This chapter Caroline is sort of being catfished.
My night wasn't wasted as I fell asleep watching Grey's Anatomy with all the lights on in my room. When I woke up to my alarm blaring, the brightness in my room was almost alarmingly bright. It felt like a star was stuck in my room. I tried to telling myself that I left them on accidentally last night, that I fell asleep before I could get up to turn everything off.
As I walked around my house, humming 'Come On Eileen' happily, I realized no one was home. They must've had an early start to the day as I still had thirty minutes before having to leave. Shrugging, I went upstairs to check if Stiles actually left already or if he's dead asleep.
Staring at his open door for a moment, I stopped humming when I noticed that it his room is empty. I stared sadly at the blue room. I haven't stepped inside of his room in a year- that's because I checked to see if he had drugs hidden in his room because Scott and him were acting strange. They still do but I've become used to their shadiness.
Shrugging sadly, trying to brush the memory out of my head, I turned on the hallway light and went downstairs to get me some breakfast. After turning on all the lights on the first level I pulled out the pan from the cupboard. I plan to make the best breakfast of the year since I feel no need to go to school today. My brother wouldn't notice and my dad is too busy at work to care.
I started off with what my mom and I used to do when I was younger. As I was cracking the eggs my phone buzzed on the counter. Throwing away the egg shells and rinsing off my hands, I clicked to see the message.
From: Liam
hey where are you today?
My eyes crinkled as I smiled widely. My fingers started typing an instant reply.
To: Liam
I decided to stay home, my father will be too busy to notice a call from school probably
Dashes of salt and pepper are added to the eggs.
From: Liam
Naughty girl ;)
I frowned, totally confused by Liam Dunbar. It doesn't sound like something he would say. Despite my confusion, I could feel a blush covering my freckled cheeks. I didn't reply right away this time as I kept on making my breakfast. My phone buzzed again.
From: Liam
Hmm not going to answer
My fingers typed frantically.
To: Liam
Of course I was going to I was making breakfast...
From: Liam
Sure
To: Liam
I was! I have to finish making MY BREAKFAST so I'll text u when done
Huffing, I softly threw my phone back onto the counter and finished making my breakfast. After eating my delicious home cooked breakfast I kept on texting Liam. He was acting weird, not calling me by my nicknames or anything. I shrugged it off and took a break from texting him to take a shower. My whole body and mind felt refreshed as I scrubbed my body.
It was around lunch time when I decided to call Liam. He never answered my text an hour ago and I'm deeply confused. I hummed 'The Fraggle Rock' theme song as I waited for him to pick up. Sitting on my bed, I crossed my ankles and leaned back into my pillows comfortably. The loud ringing kept going for some time before a soft rustling noise came from the Liam's side.
"Liam?" I questioned, twiddling with a strand of my wavy blonde hair. I left it down to naturally dry and it still felt crisp around my fingertips. It sounded like someone was crinkling a ball of paper and throwing it back and forth. The sound wasn't natural. "Hello?" I drawled out.
"See ya later, alligator," The deep voice of Garrett came from my phone. I gasped in shock and before I could question him he hung up. My mouth was still open as I put my phone down on my bedside table.
"Okay," I breathed out of my mouth calmly, "The psycho-Violet's boyfriend just picked up Liam's phone. No biggie." I whispered quietly, rubbing my hands together to calm my nerves. "Nothing wrong with that."
I hummed the theme song again to make my mind get off of what just happened but it's too recent to ignore. Why would Garrett pick up Liam's phone? I thought he was missing. Maybe Liam found Garrett to talk to him. But why would Garrett pick up his phone?
...
Wait.
Was I even talking to Liam at all today?
I scoffed, "Asshole."
To: Mason
Is liam with psycho #2?
Mason never responded.
Does it bother anyone that there are no indents in the beginning of the paragraphs? They're there when I write them but then they just disappear...
Birthday in three days and school in six! What a celebration...
