Mason walked with the rest of the family up the steps and Susannah smiled

"Look at us. It's perfect."

"Mom, you're not gonna cry, are you?" Jeremiah asked. Conrad and Mason looked at each other and tried their best not to show their sadness. Tonight was about Belly and Maddie. His twin needed this and he was not going to be the one to ruin it.

"What, and ruin my makeup? No way. It's just... Everything's gonna be different next year. Conrad's going off to college. Yep. It may be the last summer we're all together. Just don't forget I get a dance from you tonight."

Jeremiah twirled Susannah around but she got light headed making everyone look at her worried.

"Ooh, Mom, you okay?"

"Yeah, no, it's just, uh...it's been way too long since I danced. I, um, must be out of practice. Come on, um, we should go inside." Susannah lied and ushered them inside. "Hey, you guys ready for the escort dance?"

"Dude, I-I actually still can't believe you roped me into this." Mason chuckled.

"Oh, come on, dude. The girls are gonna love it."

"Kind of wish we were all doing it together, you know?" Conrad said

"Uh, you wish you were doing a dance routine?"

"No, I didn't mean that literally. I just, you know, we haven't hung out much this summer, so..."

"Yeah, you've been pretty M.I.A."

"Yeah, I know. That's on, that's on me. But I was thinking about it. We have, like, a week or so left of summer. What if we all went on an overnight fishing trip?" Conrad offered
