A lot had changed since that summer. Catrina, Madeline, and Mason had moved to Pennsylvania in the last month so when Laurel went to check on Susannah Catrina could watch the kids and vice versa. They bought a house a few blocks away so they ended up going to the same high school. The twins didn't like the fact they moved but they knew it was for Susannah so they kept their mouths shut. That house was where they grew up and Catrina sold it as if it was nothing. For Catrina she didn't want to sell the house but Laurel and her kids needed her.
Madeline sat next to Belly in 7th period and got bored. They had a free period so Maddie decided to pull out a book. She currently was reading Emma by Jane Austin. Susannah had suggested it to her and Madeline promised she would read it. Maddie opened it up and saw the bookmark. It was a Polaroid of her and Jeremiah on a date.
It was Spring break and Jeremiah had come to New York along with Susannah. Conrad was busy at school so he couldn't come. Madeline had missed the older Fisher boy but they still called weekly so it was ok. Madeline was excited because this was her first spring break with Jeremiah. They lived in a decent sized home that had three bedrooms. Susannah would stay with Catrina while Jere would bunk with Mason.
Madeline heard their car pull up and ran out of her room. Mason heard it as well so the twins pushed and shoved each other like they were toddlers to get to the door first. As soon as she opened the door Madeline ran into his arms and Jeremiah spun her around. In that moment everything was simple.
Suddenly the bell rang and Maddie closed her book before putting it in her bag. Belly had dropped her book making the kid next to her give it back. They walked out of the class together and Madeline felt her phone ring. She rolled her eyes seeing it was Jeremiah and sent him to pic mail. Every day for the past month Jeremiah had called her at the exact same time and every time Madeline Wilson ignored him. Her mailbox was almost full at this point.
