"Kenji..."

At that moment, reality hit Sugawara in the face like the worst slap he had ever received.

Back at camp, people were trying to get dry. Suga comes walking in very slowly.

"Hey! Where did you go? You just ran off. I wanted to talk to you back there but..." Daichi asked once Suga came back in.

Suga doesn't answer as Kenji walks in behind him.

"Man so this is what you left me for?" He teases.

"Who's this?" Daichi questioned.

"I'm Kenji!" Kenji says warmly as he hugs Suga's back and kisses his cheek gently.

Koshi comes up next to his dad and grabs his hand.

Daichi looks down bashfully.

Once everything was dry, Daichi stood alone near the volleyball nets, setting the ball and catching it, over and over again.

Kenji comes up to him and starts to cheer him on.

"Wow, wow! Too good my friend, like MSBY! You're great at this!" He says, hyping up a small something anyone could do.

"I'm not that good anyways, I've lost many times before, not just as a team."

"Really! You've lost?"

"Yeah."

"Who won." Kenji asked.

"Suga did."

"Really? In volleyball?" Kenji laughs at Daichi's statement.

"Hey tell me something? You went to high school with Koshi right?" Kenji asked, wanting to know the past of his fiancé.
"Who were his friends, what was he like, I just want to know!" He exclaims.

"He was the soul of the volleyball team. Everyone used to come to him with their problems. He was the appointed "mother" of the team." Daichi explains to Kenji.

"What's changed? Nothing at all." Kenji jokes.
"Look, I've come to him with my problem."

"Yes." Daichi listens to what Kenji is about to say. "What's your problem."

"My problem is that I love him very much. You know?" He asked Daichi.

"I know..." he says, quietly thinking about what happened a couple hours ago.

"Wait...Hey! What kind of friend are you?" He jokingly asked meanly.
"You didn't attend your own best friend's engagement."

"You're engaged?" Daich asked, dribbling the volleyball, in order to stay calm.

"Yeah we are, but it happened with such difficulty. And we are getting married in December...I think?" He jokes about the last part.

"Listen, tell your friend, that if he doesn't marry me in December then..." he grabs the volleyball from Daichi's hand quickly.

"I'll marry this volleyball!" He jokes.

"Really." Daichi says, faking trying to pretend he found it funny.

"No, of course not!" He says, clearing up his joke, as if Daichi didn't know already.

"Alright, I'm gonna go find him, see you around man." Kenji says goodbye to daichi and walks off.

Daichi stands there for a bit, until the same kid who played the game with him walks by, counting stars.

He pulls the young child towards him and starts to explain, knowing he will get it, he knew the kid was smart.

"We live once." The kid agrees, counting that step.

"We die once."

The child nods again.

"We get married once."

The child counted the step, even though he knew that could happen again.

"And we fall in love once."

This time the child shakes his head and points onward, probably to where Suga was.

Daichi points with him, asking him if it was right.

The child walks off again, continuing to count the stars.

"Suga..." Daichi whispers once he's all alone.
