"Hold me closer, tiny dancer!" Jacqui continued to sing from the karaoke machine, clearly somewhat out of breath.
"Woo, sing it, Elton!" Peter jokingly cheered among the group of students in the room, laughing along.
"Shut up." She cleared her throat and continued. "Count the headlights on the— RANDY!" She spotted him walk back in. "Dude, I just sang four songs including Don't Go Breaking My Heart all by myself, I'm dying and sound like a crazy person. When are you putting on your fuckin' movie?!"
"Soon, that's what I'm coming back for." He nodded.
"From where? Did you get lost on your way to the bathroom?!" She caught her breath for a second. "I'm so done, someone else take over— PETER!" She shouted as she stepped away before throwing the mic at him.
She walked over to see Stu ushering some of the more random people out. Walking over she shoved her hands in her pockets. "Time to leave already?" Jacqui raised an eyebrow.
"Curfew, remember?" Stu fist-bumped a guy as he walked out of the door.
"Fuck, that's right. I'd hate to be a stripper right now." She murmured, watching a guy walk out of the house. "Dennis, remember you still owe me thirty bucks." She said, almost threateningly.
Sidney continued to call up the stairs for Tatum, though she got no reply.
Sidney scratched her head and turned around to look at Jacqui and Stu, who still stood at the door. "Do you know where she is?"
"Uh, I saw her—" Jacqui started but she screamed and was caught off guard by Billy jumping in the doorway. "What the fuck, William?! Jesus!" Jacqui yelled, clearly annoyed even more than usual with him. "You look greasier than usual," she caught a whiff of something and sniffed for a second. "And why do you smell like beer?"
"Jacqui, give him a break," Stu said as Sidney walked over, Jacqui subsequently rolled her eyes and walked away to stand with Randy.
"What's Leatherface doing here?" Randy was also annoyed with Billy's presence.
"No idea, but if something goes wrong here I'm pinning it on him." Jacqui made eye contact with Sidney as Billy led her up the stairs. She widened her eyes at Sidney, who just sent a reassuring smile back.
Jacqui continued to stare as they left her view before she turned back to Randy. "Do you have any idea where Tatum went?" She asked, annoyance in her voice. "I doubt she's still in the basement."
"Yeah, she probably left." He took a sip of his beer, it wasn't out of character for Tatum to get pissed at Stu and leave.
"I'm gonna get some beer, you go put the movie on." Kissing his cheek quickly, Jacqui headed off in the direction of the garage.
Jacqui was about to open the door, hand on the handle when Stu grabbed her arm. She jumped and let out a yelp. "Stu, you dick!" She growled.
He laughed at her startled expression. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. You just can't go in there."
"Why not?" Jacqui was angry with just about everyone on the planet at that point. "Where the fuck did Tatum go?" She said it more like a statement than a question. "She promised me a stick of gum if I didn't vomit at this party and I'm half sober."
Stu leaned against the door while hanging his head. "We got into a fight . . . she went with Dewey when he left."
Jacqui just slowly nodded, a guilty look quickly washing over her face. "Sorry, didn't mean to pour salt in the wound. It sucks to hear that." She folded her arms after a bit of silence. "But it still doesn't explain why I can't go in your garage." She looked back over to the door.
". . . Someone got a little sick."
"I'll take my chances," Jacqui tried to move past him, but he stopped her again.
"Someone barfed. Like, a lot."
Jacqui folded her and scoffed with a laugh. "I do drugs, I've seen vomit before." She was about to move again but froze and stopped, turning to face him afaun "Like, 'a lot' a lot?"
"Yeah!" He nodded.
Jacqui groaned and rolled her eyes, starting to walk away. "Forget it, I don't even want more beer anymore."
Stu laughed but nodded quickly, following her. "Let's go see what your dumbass boyfriend picked for us to watch."
Jacqui walked into the living room and took off her jacket before throwing it on one of the chairs on the other side of the room.
There were still a bunch of people there, so Jacqui squeezed between Randy and Peter, the two shuffling away a bit to make room before focusing back on the movie.
They all watched in partial silence, everyone drinking. It got to the part with Bob being stabbed to the kitchen door. Everyone jumped at the sound cue. Randy even did and grabbed Jacqui's shoulder excitedly, shaking her. You would think it was his first time seeing the movie.
"Why do they do that?!" Some guy beside Jacqui yelled out. "It's too red!"
Jacqui's face drew into confusion because there wasn't a single drop of blood in the scene. "Where?"
"Wait! Here comes another!" Randy leaned excitedly on the edge of his seat. Just as a stab happened, everyone yelled out and leaned back.
"How can you watch this shit over and over?" Someone disgustedly asked.
Jacqui didn't even turn around but sneered and furrowed her brows at the audacity of that question. "Shut up, pussy."
"I wanna see breasts. I wanna see Jamie Lee's breasts. When do we see Jamie Lee's breasts?!" Stu asked, almost impatiently.
"Great question," Jacqui commented.
Randy turned around matter-of-factly to Stu. "Not until Trading Places in '83. Jamie Lee was always the virgin in horror movies. She didn't show her tits 'til she went legits."
Jacqui rolled her eyes. "Of course you knew that." She murmured.
"Couldn't afford a decent pair," one of the girls said.
Jacqui looked back over to Randy, waiting for the volcano to explode. She would've gotten overtly defensive if the girl said something similar about Bruce Campbell.
"What'd you say?" He shot her a look and then carried on. "That's why she always outsmarted the killer in the big chase scene at the end. Only virgins can do that." He scoffed, "Don't you know the rules?"
"What rules?" Stu asked, he sounded bored but he wanted to rile Randy up.
"You don't—" Randy leaned forward and slammed his beer on the table before dramatically grabbing the remote and pausing the film, Michael with his knife at the ready.
"Oh, that's like the best scene!" Jacqui complained before quickly realizing something. "Wait, is this a speech?"
