Jacqui's eyes shot back open and she sharply inhaled, coughing as she tried to catch her breath. It took all her strength, but she pressed her hand against the ground to try and get up, biting back screams of pain from every movement. She started to crawl over to the white fence surrounding the house, grabbing on to try and leverage herself up.
Once she finally got up, she stumbled around and laid her head back against the wall, trying not to fall back down. When she was ready, she started to make her way to the house's front yard so she could leave.
Jacqui's white sneakers that were covered with Sharpie were now layered on more by blood, dragging against the dirt and grass as she continued her way. Her brown skin started to turn a grayish shade from the blood loss she was experiencing, although she continued to fight with her struggling consciousness.
Perhaps the adrenaline from her situation had helped her ignore that she was bleeding out, but she couldn't help but stay conscious as she was determined to make it to safety. The road seemed to be getting longer, stretching forever just to torment Jacqui with the knowledge that there was nowhere to crawl to.
She had been doing her best to avoid looking at the damage, hoping that if she just ignored it, it would hurt less. But while looking down at the road she could still see her bleeding stomach, covered by her hand, and unfortunately, her determination wouldn't stop the bleeding.
Then she heard a car. It started faint but the second she realized what the sound meant, the humming began to build and build until she finally saw a white car coming down the street, it having passed Stu's house and come down.
"HELP!" She called out from on the grass.
Jacqui had to get farther, but she had to speed up to make it in time. She painfully continued to move forward faster, causing the blood to spill out faster as her limping increased in speed. "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck." Jacqui choked out in low, heavy breaths, trying to keep herself from losing it.
"Help! Wait, stop!" Jacqui kept forward, the car slowing down the slightest bit as it came near. "Please, please help me!"
The car came to a very slow speed without fully stopping and a thankful, pained smile slightly grew on her face. "Oh, thank fuck." The window slowly started to roll down. "Thank you, thank you—"
"Get the fuck out of the road!"
"No, no, no—! Wait—!" Jacqui couldn't do anything but stand there as the car went on, back to the normal speed it was at before.
She took a moment to catch her breath and stared, still fully comprehending what just happened. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" She stopped to catch her breath once again, her newfound anger not helping one bit. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
Jacqui swore but never as much as she did right now. "Stupid, small, privileged, dick-sucking, piece of shit!" She growled angrily, struggling to even speak, but she was angry enough to push those words out.
Jacqui had been stabbed, sliced at, and thrown out a window while at a party she was actively convincing herself and other people to go to, and now her closest chance to safety flipped her off and drove off without a care.
"I HATE YOU!" She shouted out one last time, even though the chances of the person even hearing it were very low.
Jacqui harshly swallowed and took a minute, but continued walking down the road, standing right in the middle of it. She was off the road entirely at first, but the stranger's comment made her want to do the exact opposite.
Then gunshots went off behind her, and remembering the killer was using a knife, Jacqui made the semi-stupid decision to turn back around, a better chance with a few lucky survivors than walking miles. "What the fuck am I doing?!"

Billy knelt over Sidney, knife raised until a gun went off, sending him flying and coughing up his own blood.
Gale stood in the doorway and let the gun fall to her hip. "I knew how the safety worked that time you bastard."
Gale then turned and helped someone up the stairs from behind her. Jacqui walked up, her slashed left arm hung loosely to her side while her right hand still clenched onto her stab wound. "When you write a book on this, please make me sound more like a survivor instead of an angry, swearing, bleeding mess." She told Gale, who just lightly nodded.
"Shit!" Randy called out, wide-eyed and running over to Jacqui. "Are you okay?!"
"Yeah, I'm fan-fuckin'-tastic, actually." Jacqui sarcastically replied as Sidney grabbed the gun from Gale. Jacqui looked down at Billy. "That little bitch tried to kill me."
Randy put his arm around her to steady her as he looked at her wounds. "I thought you died."
"I'm fine." Jacqui breathed out, not wanting to pass out until the hospital ride. "I tell you though, getting thrown out that window really sobered me up, man."
"You got thrown out a window?!"
They all looked over to Sidney, who walked up to Billy and started kicking his leg to make sure he was dead. Randy pulled Jacqui to where they were standing between Sidney and Gale. "Careful, this is the moment when the supposedly dead killer comes back to life for one last scare."
As if on cue, Billy jumped up and reached out toward Sidney as the others all jumped and screamed.
Without hesitation, Sidney shot Billy between the eyes and right in his forehead. "Not in my movie." His body was now lifeless as blood seeped out from the bullet wound in his head.
Jacqui furrowed her brows. ". . . Why would he even try that—?" Another loud crash had them all screaming once again as Sidney's dad burst through the closet and fell.
"Dad!" Sidney called out before she stepped over Billy to go help him.
Jacqui dropped down onto the stairs to sit, Randy going next to her. "How did . . . ?" He gestured to the large slash across her face.
"Oh, he missed with the knife . . . a lot, he fuckin' sucked at murder." She was clearly just trying not to think too hard about it. After a moment, she leaned her head back and sighed. "I'm gonna have scars on my face . . . like Scarface."
". . . You haven't seen Scarface, have you?"
Jacqui widely grinned. "No . . . did I mess that up?"
Randy smiled back. "Yeah, you did."

Just a couple of hours later, everyone was loaded into ambulances while Gale stood in front of her camera. Jacqui talked to one of the workers loading her gurney into the ambulance. "Okay, listen, because this is important. I left my jacket in the living room, it was forty-five bucks and my wallet's inside it. My mom will kill me if I lose it . . ." she continued on as the door was closed.
Gale fixed her hair as she spoke to the cameraman. "Okay, I think it's going to go something like this. Just stay with me." He went live and she held the mic up to her face.
"Hi, this is Gale Weathers with an exclusive eyewitness account . . . of this amazing breaking story. Several more local teens are dead . . . bringing to an end the harrowing mystery of the mass killing, that has terrified this peaceful community, like the plot of some scary movie." She continued on as she walked around. "It all began with a scream over 9-1-1 . . . and ended in a bloodbath that has rocked the town of Woodsboro . . . all played out here in this peaceful farmhouse, far from the crimes and the sirens of the larger cities that its residents had fled."
