Phoenix's POV
"5 MINUTE WARNING FOR 400 METER WOMEN'S FINAL." Some lady says then all of us competing in the 400 meters meet in the staging area.
Once I'm in the staging area I look at the start list on the tv screen next to us.
After I look at the start list, I move to stand next to my friends.
"You ready for our last ever race?" I question.
"For the race yeah." Kiyana says.
"For this to be our last race definitely not." Yasmijn says.
"Me either." I say as the introductions start.
Once we get introduced we head onto the track here at the Estadio Azteca.
The 2036 Olympics are being held in Mexico City.
When I get onto the track, I head to lane 5, adjust the starting blocks to my liking then I stand in my lane and relax as we're introduced again for TV.
"GO MOMMY." I hear my son shout making me smile.
"Runners take your mark." The starter dude says so I let out a deep breath then get down in my starting position and position my feet in the blocks.
Once I'm comfortable, I kneel on the track relax and wait.
"Get set." The starter dude says so I put my hands down on the track then I raise up into my starting stance and wait.
2 seconds later the starting gun goes off so I fire out of the blocks then I instantly turn on Bad Bitch Gear and sprint around the first corner.
Once I reach the back straight, I resist the urge to peak up at the video board to see where I am and I just keep on sprinting.
I sprint and sprint and sprint and sprint and sprint and sprint and sprint all the way around the track.
"GO BUBS." I hear Kiyana shout behind me as I lock eyes on the finish line.
"WE'RE BEHIND YOU." Yasmijn shouts. "FUCKING GO."
"Ain't gotta tell me twice." I mumble then I keep on sprinting towards the finish line.
Some seconds later I cross the finish line then I slow to a stop.
"Why the fuck are you so fast?" Kiyana asks.
"It's that Mama speed." I say.
"Girl we're all moms." Yasmijn says.
"True." I say as I look at the video board where the results are being shown.
