The only place the vikings could go once they filtered out of the viewing room was a large mess hall. Dinner was awkward and... tense, to say the least.

Hiccup was stressed, anxious and creeped out by how Dagur and Viggo were watching him. He could see the intrigue in their eyes. "Just what in the hell are they thinking?" He shuddered at that thought. Those two were completely unpredictable. Dagur because he was crazy and Viggo? Viggo was someone who rivaled or even surpassed his own intellect, and Hiccup knew that. The way Viggo seemed to study and take notice of Hiccup's every move proved that.

(I'm sorry but Viggo is my favorite villain in all of HTTYD so expect a lot of him.)

That's one of the reasons Hiccup chose to sit with the people who accompanied him in the other room, far far away from the other vikings. What piqued his curiosity was how the teens were also sat further from the vikings and closer to his table. He also noticed how they shot glances his way every once in a while. Astrid was with the teens now so they were probably just asking her questions about him.

What Hiccup didn't know was how the teens were discussing how to get Hiccup alone so they could apologize and hopefully mend their broken friendships. It was a long shot but they had to at least try.

Once dinner was over Kamil gave them all directions to their rooms. Coincidentally the teens, Hiccup and the group he sat with all had their rooms in a completely separate location from the rest of the vikings. Once Stoick and Gobber noticed this they were ready to protest. Before they could do that Kamil appeared out of nowhere stopping their protests before they could even start.

"You'll get your chance to talk to Hiccup in private during the next break." Stoick needs to see more about Hiccup. Especially the part where he discovered that peace was an option. Stoick nodded and headed off to bed, Gobber following close behind his best friend. Looks like his talk with his son had to be postponed.

The teens were overjoyed with these news. This would give them the chance to talk with Hiccup in private.

Hiccup said his goodbye's to his new friends? Were they his friends? He honestly didn't even know, before heading off to his room.

Just as he was about to open the door a voice called out to him from behind. Once he turned around he saw all the teens standing there, fidgeting. Turns out Snotlout was the one who called out to him. No one said anything, they had no idea how to continue and the tension could be cut with a knife.

Eventually, Astrid rolled her eyes and decided to take the lead. "Could we talk to you? In private." She motioned to his room.

Hiccup slowly nodded his head, unsure. "Sure..." He trailed off as he entered his room the teens following him once Astrid gave the signal to go ahead.

Once they were inside Fishlegs couldn't take it anymore and blurted out the first thing on his mind. "We want to apologize to you!"

Hiccup paused. "I'm sorry, what?" This was a first. Someone apologizing to him?

None of them noticed the two acidic green eyes watching them from the shadows. Toothless watched with rapt attention. The blonde girl, what was her name again? Ah, Astrid. He was okay with her, Hiccup seemed to fancy her and if the way things looked she was somewhat fond of him as well. The rest of the group on the other hand he wasn't so sure about but he'd give them a few minutes to see how this played out.

Hiccup looked toward Astrid for help but she just nodded, unable to meet his eyes. She may have never bullied him but she never stood up for him either.

Surprisingly Tuffnut was the one who started. "We want to apologize for how we've treated you in the past." His sister continued after him. "We're sorry for all the pranks we pulled on you and about some of your inventions that we may or may not have sabotaged." Hiccup raised an eyebrow at that last part. Yeah, that made sense, there was no way all his inventions failed because he made mistakes.

Fishlegs finally gathered his courage and went next. "I'm sorry that I abandoned you when we were five. I shouldn't have left you all alone like that." Only two left now. Snotlout chose to go first. "And I'm sorry for all the times I bullied you. You're my cousin and I should have helped you rather than beat you down further."

"I should have done something instead of just letting it all happen. I'm sorry I never helped you out. I'm sorry I never stopped them." She pointed at the rest of the group. "Or anyone else who bullied you. Can you ever forgive us?" They were hopeful but didn't expect much.

"I can't forgive you guys." They had sad but understanding looks on their faces. Yeah, if they were in his shoes they'd never forgive themselves either. "But I'm willing to give you another chance." They looked up again with hope in their eyes. Did he just say what they thought he said? "To prove to me, that what you said is all true." They were nodding their heads, they would do whatever they had to. "I may be able to forgive you guys with time, but I will never be able to forget the years of suffering you've put me through. Please don't make me regret this."

"You won't regret this. I can promise you that." Snotlout said, the others nodding in agreement.

Astrid hugged him, the rest of the teens following soon after and joining the group hug. Hiccup couldn't take it anymore and broke down crying. This was all he's ever wanted. Friends who would support him no matter what.

Toothless decided against revealing himself right now. He'd wait until morning when they calmed down. He just hoped they kept their promise to Hiccup even when he revealed he was friends with Toothless. In all honesty, Toothless was just glad Hiccup finally got something he always wanted.
