Starlight can only shake herself in fear when she is in Vought's female restrooms.

What was supposed to be a normal meeting with a supposed new recruit named Malachi turned sour when Homelander started to become someone or something that she didn't thought would do.

The way he spoke of his own publicity, the anger he sounds beneath that veneer of affable exterior and how he is basically threatening the new recruit with death or something worse is bound to be something that she cannot believe was possible.

She thought The Deep was bad by blackmailing her to give him a blow job but the thought that Homelander would go out of their way to do something like this out of because he was outshine by somebody...

Were it not for how strong Malachi, she isn't so foolish enough to believe that he would be a smear on the floor after what Homelander promised.

And if Homelander is that bad, then... then...

She gulped, and pulled out her phone, dialing her mom's number.

She brought it up to her ear as she entered a stall, making sure the seat was down and sitting down on the toilet.

After a few rings, her mom answered.

"Annie?"

Annie felt tears beginning to well up in her eyes.

"Mom?"

"Annie? Are you okay?"

"Joining the Seven... it was a bad idea..."

"How could you say that?! After all the hard work you put-"

"I'm scared, Mom. Homelander... What Homelander did... He's a rapist... hurt some poor woman... Her name is Becca Butcher... and the Deep... What the Deep did to me..."

Starlight, now Annie, can only hiccuped herself as she sobbed uncontrollably, knowing that while she may have perhaps prepared for anything after her meeting with The Deep, she did not prepare for Homelander.

"Annie?"

Her mother tried to call her but Starlight did not answer for she is still crying from the Hell that she is forced herself upon.

All that work, everything she had done...

Only to learn that it was all wasted.

Pain.

That is what Homelander feels when Malachi punch him in the face.

Him, of all people, to feel the pain of having a fist punch towards his nose, almost broke his nose and make it bleed.

He can only feel excruciating anger from the whole ordeal and he would be very livid when he is ready to pummel to brat to kingdom come to be stopped with a new feeling.

Fear.

Unimaginable fear.

What Malachi did...

What matter of power he can show...

Homelander can't explain it but what he did, he made Homelander feel scared... feel small... feel tiny... feel miniscule...

And he doesn't like that...
