What horror has unleash'd 'pon me this night?
These ghastly writers pulled from history
What due do they truly assume I owe?
They're dead, gods' sakes, what use is this lawsuit?
So what? I loosely use their "sonnet" term
An extra line I'll add or two removed
A rhyme scheme unlike any they have seen
Or thoughts of things beyond their usual themes
Then what shall I now say to stop these ghosts?
How can I prove these variations true?
What is the core idea behind our notes?
Of course, I write it now in these last lines
The final six or so in all my works
